Good book, but be aware
I have been suffering from gastritis for more almost 30 years. Usually it comes, stays for several months and then after some treatment goes away. During that time I visited many different doctors and had many medical procedures like Cat Scan, MRI, Upper Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and others performed on me. All gastroenterologists prescribed me different acid killing medicine, but never really diagnosed my problem and never suggested any diet. I also did a lot of online research for any information how to get rid of Gastritis. I believe that you cannot beat Gastritis without proper diet. I use diet as a Gastritis treatment for a long time with and without medicine and wanted to know more about it. This is why I purchased this book. The book contains a lot of very useful information. Thanks to author. For examples, it suggests to use raw potato juice. Potato juice works like a miracle for me.However, after randomly reading some dietary recommendations I found some diet suggestions that concerned me a lot. For example, author recommends include into diet my apples, cabbage, salmon. He also recommends cooking Turkey Meatballs on a frying pan with oil. But people with Gastritis should never eat cabbage unless they have so called low acid Gastritis (Hypochlorhydria). Apples are also questionable as they have a lot of acid. Every time I eat fresh apple I end up with abdominal pain. Salmon is a fatty fish and all of sources I read do not recommend eating it if you have Gastritis. They recommend eating cod instead. And cooking Turkey meatballs (or any food) on a frying pan is also not a good idea if you have Gastritis.

Buying this book was the best decision I did!
I don't usually write reviews for books but I think this one deserves my time and effort because it has been helping me more than anything else (including my GI). I've been suffering with this awful condition for a about 6 years and I've already tried multiple supplements, remedies and diets in the past but nothing really helped me as this book is doing. My biggest struggle while suffering with gastritis has been the diet because the gastritis diet by itself is kinda boring. Most of the time you are eating the same meals and the same foods to avoid flare ups. A guy recommended this book on a gastritis facebook group (he suffered with gastritis and claims this book helped him completely healed) so I decided to buy it... and I have to say this is the best decision I have made so far. This book have plenty of recipes that I have been enjoying without thinking about if they gonna hurt my stomach or not. The book contains a lot of very useful information too.One thing I really liked about this book is the fact the author writes from experience. He really knows what his talking about. He suffered with gastritis and a bunch of GI problems for years. So the last thing I have to say is thank you Paul for written this book. Your book have been a lifesaver for me! :)

I am very happy with this book
I have been on the new diet for 3 weeks now and feel much better. I tried a few recipes and they came out well (and also really tasted great). The smoothies recipes at the end of the book are also yummy, I loved them!!What I liked the most about this book is that the author not only does share recipes but he writes about every supplement and tells everything your Gl is not going to tell you so that you speed this recovery up. Wish I had it a year back when I was diagnosed.I really think this is a good book to have in your library if you have gastritis, either as a newly diagnosed person or a long term sufferer. Thank you Paul for writing this wonderful book for those who suffer from this awful condition.

Written with knowledge and from experience!
I highly recommend this book to those suffering with gut issues especially gastritis. I love the fact the author writes from experience. He explains the diagnosis in detail and is knowledgeable about the condition and is not just writing about it and sharing recipes just to share. He knows from experience. Thank you for sharing and getting the word about about this awful condition and hopefully it will put an ease to some of our inflamed stomachs!!!

Exactly what I was looking for!
Exactly what I was looking for. Simple straightforward information about Gastritis and the things you can do to manage and cure it. I also loved the recipes. Normal meals most people would like and very simple to make, and they sound delicious! I'll probably be trying most of them.

Good
This book has been good to me during my current gastritis flare even when my dietitian cannot seem to get it right with my meal plan. However, some of the recipes contain wayyyy too much oil. You have to really use your discretion. Also, in a few recipes I’ve seen, the author would mention for example coconut milk in the ingredients but do not place the corresponding step in the method section. Those are my only complaints. The recipes are easy to make and I love that. My boyfriend enjoys them as well and he has no stomach issues.

Complicated.
I wanted a book that would give me easy to follow recipes and straightforward information. This was very detailed and I am no great cook. I just wanted simple and uncomplicated.

Not ideal for Gastritis sufferers
It's a good book as far as recipes go. However, there are recipes that contain dairy and acidic foods, as well as unpractical advice such as eat small and frequent meals but leave a few hours gap before you drink, before and after meals. There are not enough hours in the day to do that andd stay hydrated andd eat frequently. Also, every Gastritis stomach is different. What may work for me, may not work for someone else. So for me, I can't use any of the recipes as daily recipes.I'd recommend 'How Not To Die'. It's full of plant-based / vegan meals (isn't intended for Gastritis specifically) but I alter the spices and sweetness when needed and I can cook everything in it! Absolutely love it!!

Some lovely recipes. I use this with the acid ...
Some lovely recipes. I use this with the acid watcher book. Both are a bit American so some ingredients difficult to source in UK. Lovely smoothies!
