Giro Syntax MIPS Adult Road Cycling Helmet

Very pleased with this purchase. After trying on all kinds of helmets in stores I decided to go with my initial instinct and order the Syntax MIPS from Amazon (Matte Black).Of all the helmets I have tried (Bontrager, Abus, Bell etc.) I like this one best, certainly in the price range.It’s well-made and slick looking, comfortable, lightweight and well-ventilated, also easy to adjust. Packaging is attractive too. Recommended, great value!

I stumbled across the Syntax while searching for a replacement for my Giro Revel. The Revel is not a bad budget helmet, but I'm riding farther and faster. I know Mips is debatable but it became part of my search.The Syntax is a great midrange unit. It's smaller than most helmets I've tried, comfortable on my bald head, fits, and is well ventilated. My photos are on 12x12 floor tiles. Noticeable differences over budget are: foam density, interior padding, the straps are similar but the dual adjustment retention system is better, and it sits around my head and not just "over" it.If I must gripe, there was glue in/around some of the vents, and there is not glasses storage.The subdued colors, branding, and texture will match any kit in my closet. I'm very satisfied. I'll update after a full season on the road.Update: Glasses will fit or not fit based on design. My Siroko K3S fit securely.After almost 2k miles it's still great.The small loops on the rear have reflectors on them. I never noticed.

MIPS alone is worth buying a new helmet if you have an old one. It makes a nice snug fit without any hassle. The helmet is pretty streamlined and light enough to not really be considered with long usage. There may be slightly cheaper options, but for the price, you get a helmet that doesn't stand out too much and great fit with MIPS.I haven't used this extensively and I'd be interested to see how this fairs in hot summer months (or really cold ones, though the coldest it gets here is 50F or so). Though otherwise, it has been great.One caveat is that while it does fit well and is easy to get snug, there could be a bit more cushiony. Though I figure for MIPS to work, you need a pretty rigid substructure (for lack of a better word) for the outer shell to slide over and not transfer pressure.

Replaced my loved specialized Elon, but they were out of stock. So I ordered the Giro. To my surprise fit perfect with the dial adjustmentComfortable , similar weight , fairly coolGreat value

I love Giro helmets and this one is great! The matte black goes with everything. It fits well and has a 2 way adjustment on the back of the helmet. I wear a ponytail and it loops through by the ratchet adjustment easily. The helmet has great ventilation. My only complaint is that if you don't wear headbands or cycling hats it leaves a big area of your forehead open to view. It looks sort of funny and would leave a funny tan line if you care about that sort of thing.

Love my new helmet, it is light weight and your head never gets hot even on a really hot day. Doesn't even feel like I have a helmet on so comfortable. MIPS is also the reason I got this. I could not be happier.

There are many bike helmets in the market. Prices range from $30 to $300. As an avid biker, I have used several different brands and qualities. This is the second Giro syntax I have purchased. The company provides outstanding service and quality for the money.

This helmet fits so well! As previous reviews mention, it fits around your head, it’s not just strapped ON TOP of your head. I often wondered with other helmets how strapping on top of your head does anything to protect side hits or a forehead hit. This one gives me confidence that wherever the hit may come from, my head is protected. It absolutely does not have a goofy look either! Very sporty. I would definitely buy again!
