Actually A Terrific Product!
We had this model of Sprite's line of HH (Hand Held) for more than 5 years before it became too encrusted with our extremely hard water (even a good filter system like this will not alleviate the hardness problem fully). We went back to Lowes where we purchased it (earlier this year) and replaced it with the PURE 7 model, a massive hand held with a nearly Australian Shower sized head, and a big bulging handle. It works great for a big handed man, but small handed women, especially with arthritis, will not take to it well. I could only find the original Royale Deluxe here at Amazon, or at the manufacturer (way more expensive and unnecessary S&H charges at $12.50 a pop). The ROYAL DELUXE has 5 nice settings which all work very well considering the smaller head, and the grip is a nice slim handle. The flexible tubing lasts and doesn't bind up like a lot of other brands off the shelf at box stores. The weight of the HH is also barely 2 lbs wet so between that, the ease of grip, and the head size, this is a really excellent model for folks with grip problems, small fingers, and who want easy flexibility when using. It comes with the premium filter made by Sprite and I recommend keep using those if your water is hard, ugly, and/or smells. If you have itching problems after showering, the Sprite filtration will immediately make your skin thankful! The less expensive plain filters sold in a four pack are okay, but the blue premium filters work the best and last a good 3-6 months depending upon frequency of use.Changing the filters is easy as pie. Installing the unit for the first time, a 6 year old can do it. Yes the unit is "chrome" plated plastic, but if it was metal it would weigh more, it would corrode faster, and the benefits of the model would be outweighted! I don't understand the complaints about the unit pieces breaking by other reviewers unless they have gorillas living in the house with them. This is our third model from Sprite and we have never had a unit or piece of a unit break, even after 5 years of natural wear and tear use. So no, this is not a "premium" hand held shower device by any standards but it is just about the best filtration system on the market if you have problems with chlorine and/or heavy metals and other impurities. We are sold on Sprite and have been for a long time with little to no complaints. Amazon has the best prices for their products, including replacement filters, and the delivery is speedy and the packaging keeps the products safe in the mail (in fact my biggest complaint is the requirement for industrial tools to open the manufacturers product packaging!).Two Very Happy Sprite Customers

Good shower!
We live in Chicago with horrid city water that is laden with chlorine and winters so cold even healthy skin cracks and flakes in protest. Not only am I allergic to chlorine, but I have eczema and add chlorine to that and after each shower I look sunburned for the rest of the day. And that is before winter when my eczema is a nightmare. We live in a condo and the association is taking years to allow us to put a water filtration system in our unit so I tried this in a desperate moment just because I'm sick of dermatologists, salves, and itching. It really works! There is little to no chlorine smell (and usually I had to shower with the fan on and the bathroom door open or I sneeze my head off), and my skin only ends up red if I have the water on too high (something I could never do when my eczema is flamingly bad). It was very easy to install (I end up being the handy-ma'am--not my husband) and changing/flipping the filter is simple. The husband likes the different settings and says he likes this better than our old shower head. Well worth a try.

Excellent shower head with chlorine filter!
Loved my new hand held shower. It replaced a similar one I bought probably 10 years ago. I like the different adjustments and very easy installation - no tools needed. It's attractive, well made and looks even more durable then the last one I owned. It really helps significantly with hard water. So very glad I ordered it.

there are some strange sediment in water
Is it normal or Is my product faulty? this works great for chloine, but when I filled a washbasin with water, there are some small sediment. some golden or black metal dots. now I'm not certain whether I should use this or not. Filterd water feels soft and good, but the sediment.. Before I use this shower hand held, there were no such sediments in water. I'm afraid my skin would get worse because of that.

Not really impressed or disappointed. It was easy to install
Not really impressed or disappointed. It was easy to install. I like how solid it feels and it's not flimsy or plastic. Decent settings but the filter reduces water pressure by a good bit. I haven't noticed an improvement in my skin or hair since installing after six months. But it's a pretty good shower head and serves its purpose.

Don't buy it.
The showerhead works fine and I like the long hose BUT the clip that holds the hand-held is plastic painted to look like metal and of course it broke right away. Make sure you buy one that is real metal or PVC and not painted to look like stainless steel.

A year later, still going strong
I saw mixed reviews for this little guy before I ordered it, so I figured I'd wait and give an informed opinion. It's the end of July 2012. I bought and installed the shower head in early August 2011.NO parts broke during installation, changing of filter cartridges, or any time in between. Not sure why so many people had a problem with that, but if you read the packaging and instructions, don't over-tighten, and don't go at the thing with a set of pliers, I'm comfortable in saying you won't have a lick of trouble.Changing the filter is easy. Unscrew, pop out old filter, little vaseline on the rubber bits at the ends of the new filter, pop in, screw back together. No tools needed, cinch. And I'm a DIY newbie. My idea of fixing something is to use superglue. If superglue won't fix it, I call someone else to do it. So when I say this is easy, it's easy.Shower head does add extra height, maybe three to six inches, but these days most people don't find that to be a problem. Tilt is easily adjusted.Great settings, water pressure is lovely, handheld feature a must for me, and from what I saw when I was shopping last year, not common among filtering showerheads.Long story short? Great product. Buy with confidence. Don't be weird with it and you shouldn't have a problem.
