Great kit for teaching and learning
This kit is great if you have a BBC micro bit as this is what the kit is meant for. The modules are all of great quality and work well, and I have had no issues with any of them. The servo is a nice addition to the kit as you can demonstrate locking mechanisms, and how code can be used to control physical objects. However, what I don't like about this kit is the high price. There are other kits that are a lot cheaper and I don't see why this one is more expensive. Rest assured, the things you get inside are to help you get started with coding, with your microbit. And it doesn't fail to do so!Overall, if you own a microbit, and want to be able to do more with it, I recommend getting this kit. This kit is quite pricey so the value for money isn't really there, but everything you get works well and is well organised. Great for teaching coding and electronics.

Lots of components and a good starter kit but the instructions are terrible
The media could not be loaded. So if you are new to the Microbit, like me, you might be tempted to buy a starter kit like this one.It has lots of components, like LEDs, motors, a servo, a buzzer, breadboard, photosensors, a relay, GPIO adaptor and all the wires and leads you need to connect them together. So a good collection of electronic components to build little experiments and control them from the Microbit computer. However the very limited instructions come on a mini CD, so unless you have a PC/Mac with a DVD/CD drive you can't access them. Basically the CD contains a pictures of some of the components like a button or an LED and a screenshot of the Microbit Blocks program to control it and that's all. (see the picture attached)There is no instructions on how to wire components up, how to insert the Microbit in the GPIO adaptor, what cables to use. This information you have to work out for yourself by searching the internet. I built the little example in the video. For a child this kit would be really frustrating unless they are already very experienced with the Microbit or into electronics. For a parent unfamiliar with either and looking to assist their child you will soon hit a brick wall.I had the advantage of a Degree in Computer Science and 35 years writing software, so it wasn't a complete loss.Hopefully you find the review helpful 👍

Three stars
Got this for my son to play about with, practicising connections etc for what he is learning at school. This kit, despite being quite pricey, doesn't include the BBC Microbit board which you need to be able to use all of this! This you have to buy separately, and does add quite a bit onto the price. The equipment you get in this pack does look quite comprehensive though. There is no instruction guide, although there is a CD included which gives you a brief introduction into what to do. You can however, look it all up on the internet as you go along. Great for any budding scientists or engineers, but be aware that you will need to purchase other kit to be able to use it.
