The Goodies

Can't wait to see the Goodies again! Where's Marty?
The Goodies aired on American public television along with episodes of the Marty Feldman show in the summer of 1973 and became an instant hit with my family. Unfortunately, they never aired again in this country. I was nine years old at the time and the humor struck me perfectly. I remember an episode where they were all trapped in a room playing an endless game of "I spy with my little eye something beginning with..." But the thing that really cracked me up was seeing one of them finally lose it and start shouting "I'm a teapot!" over and over again. In my family when things get out of control and really start to melt down we still say "I'm a teapot!"I am also anxiously awaiting the release of the old Marty Feldman shows and hope that the BBC gets around to it soon. Frankly these two older BBC programs are much funnier than any of the more recent material they have released. Pythonesque humor from the Golden Age of British comedy!

GOODIES! goody goody yum yum
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to rate the dvd or the show. The disc was in fine condition. The show is great, if you like british comedies from the 60's and 70's, which I do. Thank you.

Still funny after all these years...
Great show along a similar vein as Monty Python's Flying Circus. British comedy at it's best!

pretty good Goodies
This DVD has three episodes from the Goodies, a British sit-com from the early 70s. The first episode is from early on in their production, and apparently the two other episodes are from later years.Kitten Kong is THE BEST Goodies episode ever, with G or PG rated humor I can enjoy watching with my kids. It is also truly funny humor for old and young alike, featuring a turtle doing calistenics, and a giant kitten terrorizing Britain. There were tons of good belly laughs in this first episode. It's too bad the Goodies later tried to be something more for "grown ups" with more "adult" humor. This ruined the fun. The second episode isn't too terrible, but the third episode makes numerous "gay" jokes that are inappropriate for young audiences.

Kitten Kong Rules!
I have been looking for this series on DVD for many years and was delighted to finally find at least a few of the episodes are now available in the US. Wish they would release more.

It’s a Time Machine
Good old British satire/comedy/political innuendo with no expletives which seems to be the norm these days. Just scratching my head wondering why it’s only been available. Money well spent (even though my wife thinks differently).

The Goodies are goodies!
What a blast from the past these 3 shows are. Though a person might be confused by the British references to people and events, they can always Google them later. And seeing the shows in colour, rather than on my parent's black-and-white TV was all the better.

Amazing Collection and YES, it's ALL here.
For those Goodies fans out there who may be wondering if they will still need to get the Goodies live or the final Goodies series separately etc, the answer is NO. If you get this set you will have absolutely everything that survives of the great Goodies adventures. Please note that the BBC lost the master tapes AGAIN!!!, so a couple of the episodes are in Black and White only having been obtained no doubt from a fan who thankfully taped the episode perhaps back in the day but it's better to have this than no episode at all and to be honest it didn't detract at all from the awesome Goodies team, it was just a shame that the colour versions are lost to time.So yes, not only is it the complete adventures it's with sheer luck that we thankfully have access to ALL of the episodes.Time has not dulled The Goodies at all for me and if you can't take a joke or understand comedy then this may not be the set for you, but for those of us that can, it's a wealth of wonderful comedy entertainment that will have you returning again and again for lot's of laughs.Couldn't recommend the set highly enough and sadly these episodes may never receive a Bluray release so snap these up while you can.

Great service
The DVDs turned up earlier and in great condition. No small feat as I’m in New Zealand. Highly recommend.

It's (mostly) all here. 14 disks.
BBC episodes have subtitles. ITV episodes (disks 13+14) do not. Occasional episode in black and white. Standard stuff. The Rose D'Or cut of Kitten Kong. Now it's all here. Australians, we'll be happy to know that the bits that were cut, they're here too.
