Has a better lanyard than the black version
I was on the fence about the camo design, the only reason I ordered this was because the black was out of stock at the time. I was delighted however to find that this came with a better lanyard than the PD35 v2.0 black, or even the PD36R that I ordered which for some reason arrived faulty. The lanyards on the black version and the PD36R were non-adjustable, but this one is adjustable. I've attached a photo. This alone makes it worth the money over the black version in my opinion. Strangely enough this difference isn't advertised anywhere on the Fenix website that I can find - all the images of it suggest it has the regular non-adjustable lanyard. This is the perfect size and weight for everyday carry in my opinion, I'm just walking dogs so don't have a serious use-case but it works really well. Turbo mode is plenty bright enough for finding the dog across a large park and in the current near-freezing weather it seems to stay on for quite a while. It doesn't come with batteries so you'll need to invest in some 18650 batteries and a charger. Can also use CR123 disposables but they won't last as long. The Fenix batteries are £20 each but you can get unprotected cells for about half that. They have to be button-top cells, flat-top 18650s won't work. The battery indicator light only lights up if you use 18650 cells. Be careful buying 18650 batteries as there are unscrupulous sellers selling fake/dangerous batteries. Only buy from reputable companies and follow the safety considerations for handing lithium batteries.I love the simplicity of this torch and the quality of the build. Fenix really know what they're doing. There's no lockout function through the buttons but you can simply unscrew the head half a turn to disable it.
