I was hoping for a textured bottom surface, instead it comes with a film that once removed you can stick the key pad permanently onto the desk. I move my laptop around a lot. So decided against using the sticky option. It does slide around a bit with the film on. But very comfortable and worth it. Especially if you want to stick this down.
