Q: Will this work with displaying a Nintendo 3DS screen on a television?

No. 100% doesn't work on 3DS. Thats why I bought it and the 3DS port is too small. Cable doesn't fit.

Q: Can i use this as an adapter for a 3rd monitor? second one being plugged into a hdmi on a 2014 macbook, will this let me work across 3 screens?

For more than one screen you will require an adapter which has multiple outputs.

Yes should be no problem - mine is late 2012 MacBook Pro but should be no fundamental difference.

Q: I purchased this and opened the packaging and realised it isn't compatible with my device, am i still entitled to return it despite it being open?

I think returning for a full refund including shipping charges would depend on whether your device was mentioned amongst the compatibility information in the description but if it is your error, I believe you can still return it within the return window but at your won cost and they don't have to refund the shipping.

Mac adapter

I needed an adapter for my Mac, to enable dual screen. This worked a treat. My Mac is around 10 years old.

Great product for the money and does what it should do!

Great quality and well worth the money , never skimp when it comes to HDMI devices and while there are other cheaper options most break or have connection issues while this one was plug and play and had no problem with 4k resolution!

Edit: sometimes.. Stops trackpad working on iPad Air

EDIT.. turns out Macs can have an issue with interference with some HDMI cables. I swapped over and this either fine. Changing to fire stars.Be careful.. this completely stopped the trackpad working as soon as I plugged the monitor in. There may be a workaround, but hardware should be compatible and be plug and play, so I'm not spending time researching this. There are genuine Apple products available, which is what I should have bought.

Great adapter for older Lenovo laptops!

This is a great adapter for older Lenovo laptops which only support VGA and Mini DisplayPort. It easily upgrades the quality of the output to 4K through the HDMI cable and works seamlessly with no additional configuration required.

Not for surface pro’s

Good adaptor but wouldn’t recommend for surface pro’s. This couldn’t connect my surface pro to my monitor but works for my HP funnily enough
