Works great. Easy to use. Good value. A little noisy.
I work from home using one bedroom as a home office. The room is upper floor and faces south west so it gets the afternoon sun. Also computers can add a degree or 2 to room temperature and so its quite warm in summer.8000 btu unit works great making the room very comfortable. On cool you can select your temperature and it will get there and turn off and then back on again if it needs to.As it seems a little noisy I was afraid it would be too loud if I have web meetings but I have a decent headset and coworkers say they dont hear anything. so if you are in that situation do not worry.I have been using it a couple weeks and I am quite happy. It was worth the purchase for sure. Even though a little noisy because it does not interfere with my work at all and works great I am giving it 5 stars

Does the job, but is loud
This is a smaller unit overall than the others I’ve had. I like that it turns off when the room hits the set temp. The big glaring issue is the noise. This thing is easily 30% louder than my last rosewill unit. Also when it kick on and off it will wake me out of a deep sleep it’s that bad. Either I can’t find it or there isn’t a quiet/night mode. Huge drawback otherwise it would be a great unit.

BEST SUMMER INVESTMENT EVER!
I bought an expensive name brand portable ac unit 2 years ago it is 14,000 btu but would not cool the very small, open floor, home I live in. I have health issues that cause me not to do well with heat and when temperatures outside hit 100+ degrees and my home cannot cool below 90° that sends me in the hospital. This little Shinco ac 1200 btu is AMAZING! I really could not afford to buy it but so glad I did. It was easy to install ( I did need help) but it took less than 30 minutes. The longest part was the sliding glass door kit however, that is because the door is old and some what crooked. The end result -- 108° outside and 72° inside, making 4 dogs, 3 cats, and mama all happy!

Great Portable AC – Keeps Our Basement Cool!
We’ve had this portable AC for over a year now, and it’s been a great solution for our basement, which doesn’t have a window—just a large sliding door and another exit. We had a contractor install it and vent it outside (not fully finished in the photo), and it’s worked perfectly since. It has 3 modes, 3 fan speeds, and adjustable swing direction, which makes it super versatile. Keeps the whole basement nice and cool during hot summer days. Highly recommend!

sizing of the window exhaust kit
this is a nice unit for the cost. it keeps my motorcoach nice and cool and is very quiet. I would offer the different window kits as an option during checkout so that you could get the right one for your needs. i had to change my installation because the standard kit was not going to work with my installation. other than that I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it.

Quit working after two summers
We are in Atlanta and have hot summers and a split level house where the upstairs is about 7-10 degrees warmer than the downstairs in the afternoons. We bought this in July of 2023 and it did great for the first two summers to cool our upstairs bedroom, but this season when we put it back in the room, it doesn’t cool anymore. We have done all the troubleshooting steps with cleaning filters and checking for drainage etc to no avail. We still have an older 2014 model Shinco with knobs instead of a digital control panel in another room, and it has been working for 11 years so I was sad to see this newer one didn’t seem to hold up as well.Other features of the unit were fine, noise was variable depending on the speed settings, and the panel wasn’t too bright. We did have some trouble getting the vent hose to stay connected to the unit and needed to tape it to ensure it stayed connected.

GODSEND
this thing WORKS! my apartment AC doesnt reach my room so i desperately needed something small and efficient. this is perfect. honestly if they made smaller ones maaaybe i wouldve swapped since theyre so powerful. its kinda loud too but since its strong, i dont need to run it very long. the window tube thing is kinda hard to install and not very sturdy. it comes with sticky foam strips and i used ALL of them, but theyre barely hanging on. if i ever want to move the unit i'll need some other way to keep the panel and tube sturdy.
