Execellent Resource for Biotech's Complexities!
I very much enjoyed how this identifies to the reader the back office complexities (made simple and easy to understand) that you never hear about and the process, including time it takes for a molecule to make it to market (assuming it does, which this book also explains well).Overall, an excellent resource to anyone interested in the Biotech Industry's business end and investment strategies.

Needs update
Well written and interesting intro to the Biotech industry, but it was written over 10 years ago. Several sections badly need updating: For example, Many of the companies mentioned no longer exist or have been bought out by larger pharma. Also, there have been huge advances in Human genetics since the book was written - the Human Genome project is largely complete and we have seen the results of this in the multitude of GWAS studies that have been published in recent years, giving us insights into many complex diseases. Nevertheless, the book is interesting and I enjoyed reading it.

Very quick and great condition
Thanks to the Owen's Reads for sending me a truly Like New book that is a great read. I'm using this for an online Management class, as if textbooks weren't dry enough! I was pleasantly surprised by the novel-style writing of this book that made all the facts and figures engaging, bringing them to life. Best read I've had to do classes all year!

Required for a class, worth the read
I believe this book is a little dated being published more than 10 years ago, but the concepts for the most part are still very valid. I wish it would have been able to talk more about how the internet has affected business, and the recent recession has affected the biotech industry.

Not Worth It.
Don't judge a book by its title or author. I expected some more insight into the world of biotech and pharma, instead what I got amounted to no more than a school girl reminiscing about her college days. Robbins-Roth proves herself adept at name dropping and anecdotal stores which in the end amount to nothing. Even worse are the endless lists of companies which could be downloaded from any of a hundred internet sites or the black & white charts which are basically unreadable.Don't waste your money. For real insight in the world of Biotech, get a copy of The Billion Dollar Molecule.

Great insight into the industry.
Just started reading this and i must say its already surpassed my expectations, and i think I'm only on page 50 or so. The author uses a multifaceted approach to present the facts which makes it all the more captivating. Biotech deals with improvement of quality of life and it's nice to have examples of this along the way.

Bought as as text for a class. While it was an easy enough read not sure I would have purchased this on my own.
