Product Description This product includes both Blu-Ray and DVD discs: Synopsis: In January, 2015, American rock climbers Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson captivated the world with their effort to climb the Dawn Wall, a seemingly impossible 3,000 foot rock face in Yosemite National Park, California. The pair lived on the sheer vertical cliff for weeks, igniting a frenzy of global media attention. But for Tommy Caldwell, the Dawn Wall was much more than just a climb. It was the culmination of a lifetime defined by overcoming obstacles. At the age of 22, the climbing prodigy was taken hostage by rebels in Kyrgyzstan. Shortly after, he lost his index finger in an accident, but resolved to come back stronger. When his marriage fell apart, he escaped the pain by fixating on the extraordinary goal of free climbing the Dawn Wall. Blurring the line between dedication and obsession, Caldwell and his partner Jorgeson spend six years meticulously plotting and practicing their route. On the final attempt, with the world watching, Caldwell is faced with a moment of truth. Should he abandon his partner to fulfill his ultimate dream, or risk his own success for the sake of their friendship? Extras: Climb on with a comprehensive extras package that immerses you further into the six year Dawn Wall journey. Great movie with a great message
I loved this movie. Not only do you get to see some fabulous climbing, but even as a climber myself, I found the overarching message of the movie to rise above all the climbing, and that message is that friendship and teamwork and commitment are far more important than personal fame and aggrandizement. I highly recommend this film in this era where selfish athletes are everywhere.

good documentary of tommy caldwell and his never quit attitude.
shows what it takes to push free routes on el Cap. If tommy was around in the 50's I bet he would have fit in with Harding more than Robbins. :)

Great Story!
My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it, which is rare! The whole climbing process was a real eye opener into the sport for me. I had no ideal that the rock can be studied so up close and its climb developed so slowly over such a long period of time. I would think that other climbers would always wonder if there was any foul play during that time.

What a lesson on pushing through adversity!
I don't purchase movies as much as when I was a young un, but this one was a MUST HAVE for my personal library.Taking us through the trials of these climbers in their personal lives and during the ridiculously daunting Dawn Wall climb, the documentary is just an extraordinary celebration of the human spirit finding the mettle to persevere and push through adversity and setbacks.I think as I find myself discouraged by life's roadblocks, Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgenson's 'making the impossible, possible' feat will always resonate and hopefully will be helpful in pushing me to fight through.

Breathtaking and beautiful
This is a fantastic story, brilliantly told. It's a documentary, so there is no dramatisation: it is all real footage. Some of the 'historic' episodes are related by a combination of archive news footage and drawings. This is tastefully done. The main story, about two men climbing the 'Dawn Wall' - which had never been done before - is shown by film taken at the time, both from the climbers' own phones / cameras and from ground and helicopter shots. The writers of the story show a keen sense of what to reveal and what to hold back, as the story unfolds. I am not a rock climber (simply a hill walker), but I found I was irresistably drawn in and emotionally involved in the drama as it played out.
