Does what it says. Well made and long lasting from initial appearances

The lead to attach to Mac is brill as I have used one which attached straight and never felt safe using it on an uneven surface or a stand like this which doesn't fit the adapter alongside.This is the 'Gold' and the colour matches perfectly to my rose gold MacBook Air as seen in photos.Love the fact it also has HDMI port along with usb and sd card slots.

After purchasing a cheaper version, which did not work I splashed out again on the Satechi. This works very well with MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and IPad Pro. I am mainly using for the HDMI connection to watch and duplicate screens on a TV which works perfectly and with sound when watching movies. The memory card slot also works well when importing photos. Very pleased.

Great little item that works really nicely on macbooks and windows presuming your laptop are reasonably up to date.I bought this primarily to add a SD Card clot to my 2018 macbook and it does that very well with no fuss, I noticed that my windows laptop, an 2018 Alienware 17 R4 was also lacking an SD Card slot so gave it a try and it also works great. The build quality is very good, connector feels strong and fits snugly, not too stiff.Read and write speeds are in line with USB-C and so far have no issues with devices old and new.

Like: Good number of ports, versatile, compact and because it has a small connection cable pushes the port away from the congestion of the laptop.Dislike: no additional USB-C port only standard USB ports. Although the USB-C can be used as a 'C'port it is also the passthrough for charging so you can only do one or the other not both!Overall, as all hubs of this size are of a similar spec' there is no room for complaint. For the price, it looks good, is very portable the colour matched the MacBook - a great little product

Recommended by an Apple genius when I was buying my laptop. With the lack of ports on Apple computers you need one. It does get hot after a while though.18 months later I contacted Satechi because of the heat issue and dropping connections and was sent a replacement even though the guarantee period was finished.

Really disappointed with this productSpent £60 on this because I thought it would be better made than the cheaper dongles, however the wire is faulty and disconnects all the time with any movement. This causes the HDMI signal to flicker and fragment, my USB interface and decks to disconnect, and the macbook to crash.Willing to accept I got a faulty one, and the product design is very sleek, but unusable.

The top voted review here has some comments complaining how this adapter is scratchy and sharp. It doesn’t feel that way at all. This is also the only adapter I’ve found on Amazon that matches my rose gold M1 MacBook completely as well as charges it and displays 60hz to my external monitor too. Worth the price!
