Good book for introduction on Zookeeper....

If you really want to dig into the internal of Zookeeper as well as same background on distributed systems and programming you definitely should buy this book. There's a lot of literature in the web but this book simply captures all relevant topics in great detail, e.g. ZAB mechanism, programming with Zookeeper, primitives, history of ZK, challenges in distributed computing etc. It's short and snappy so you can easily read it twice to better understand some of the more advanced topics. It's a book for programmers and operators as well. Since ZK powers a lot of distributed systems, e.g. Mesos, it's a must read for anybody dealing with these topics.

Un libro bien escrito, aunque existen alguna que otra errata, en sí resume bien conceptos complejos y nuevos para uno, lo único quizás que se extraña es que añada más gráficos representativos y quizás ejemplos de casos de uso, mi valoración final excelente libro.

A book on ZooKeeper has been needed for a long time. The author walks one through setting up and using Zookeeper; this can be contrasted with the small ZooKeeper section in the Hadoop book. This book is much more thorough and in depth coverage of the topic. While I'm still working through the examples and learning, I can say that it is filling a knowledge void that I've been desperate to address for a long time. (BTW -- I pre-ordered this several months ago)

I really feel like i 'get' zookeper after reading this book. It presents zookeeper in the context of consumers of the service and provides both java and 'c' sample code. It also gets into the internals of zookeeper itself (I must confess that I skimmed this chapter). Top notch information on a fresh approach to distributed systems co-ordination. Definitely worth the money (and more importantly) time.

This book is really good about the zookeeper internals and explained very well. I would say this book + apache official doc would cover all you need to know about zookeeper.
