There's some who gave a review after 2 months and wanted to give a definite review beyond that limit. Yes it does connect to a mac desktop bluetooth if you're nervous about that before buying. It takes a few seconds of moving it around and clicking first for the bluetooth connection to hook on. The pop up box disappears when it does. It works well enough. It's preferred to keep it plugged and lasts the estimated time mentioned.
