Scientist Mom loves this book
I’m a scientist and a mom. Nothing makes me cringe more than books for children and youth that oversimplify or just plain get science wrong. I also LOVE that this book teaches the scientific method. It’s real science! And I usually have most of the ingredients on hand. (Usually variations of water, oil, food coloring, etc)We had to ask Grandma if she had expired tablets of Alka-seltzer (she did) and we asked our optometrist if they had expired bottles of contact solution (they did). So there’s way to do these experiments very cheaply. My 3 and 5 year old LOVE doing these. My 5 year old actually understands the science (he’s fairly advanced, though) and we use it for bedtime reading. (Yes, we proudly fly our nerd flag.) My 3 year old just enjoys doing the experiments with us.As a bonus, my friend’s daughter had a science fair project and she couldn’t think of a simple way to show her chosen topic. Because I’ve read this book cover to cover I remembered there was an appropriate (SIMPLE!) experiment. And it worked!I recommend this book to everyone I can.

Easy to follow experiments!
You need a lot of different size mason jars. One experiment uses 7 small jars. I love it though. My grandson loves to do experiments. Very inquisitive. This book is easy to follow. Has like 40 experiments!! Fun.

Beginning book of science!
A practical book for my 4th grade daughter, who is ready for her first science project. We are doing each experiment one by one in the book together. Some of them really interesting and works. With some failures and more successes, she enjoys the whole process of exploring.

Big brownie points from my granddaughter for this gift!
My granddaughter was marking pages within minutes of getting this book. She couldn't wait to get home and begged her mother to let her try one experiment even though it was late. She won, and I received a wonderful photo of my granddaughter's excited face as she watched a mini-tornado in a mason jar.

My 7 Year old loves this book
I am only giving it 4 stars due to the fact that it was crushed on one corner when it showed up. Other than that great book my son really loves it and we pick out something new to do every day.

Lots of options!!
I’m not a big science project fan, but my boys are. This book is practical, fun and you don’t have to go far for most of the materials needed! I would recommend this for any science loving kids! There are lots of options for simple projects too, which was great for me!!

My grandon says "It's terrible.
My grandson who is 6 does experiments often so was excited to get this book. He and his Mom did 4 different ones and none of them worked. He told me to give the book 0 stars!
