Good for the price. Screen is lackluster
Overall, this Chromebook does its job. Given the extremely low price, I will not remove any stars from the rating due to my complaints. It feels solidly built, it charges from USB type C on either side, and the battery lasts plenty long enough. I use mine for Google Sheets/Drive/Gmail. I’ll have a half dozen tabs open with Spotify playing and it keeps up just fine. As a bonus, I can easily switch between my personal and work account by signing in and out. No mixed up passwords or sending an email from the wrong account.Downsides: Screen. It’s pretty crappy. You get all of the advertised resolution, which I find to be viable, but it’s literally impossible to avoid color shift. From a normal viewing angle, the top and bottom of a white screen will not match. Other downside is the chrome OS. I knew that I would be limited on programs going into this, but unfortunately some apps are stuck in the mobile version. I tried to use a Remote Desktop app to control my office PC. The app only used the center part of my screen as if it was a phone. On top of that, the app letterboxed the ultra wide screen display. I was left with a “desktop” the size of my thumb in the middle of the screen.Short version: If you need something inexpensive to run some web browsing and google apps, you won’t be upset.

Perfect for my needs
I was on the fence about purchasing a Chromebook vs typical laptop. When it really came down to it, I never used my previous laptops for anything other than internet browsing & I utilized Google Docs over Word. So for me this option makes sense. I did a ton of research & I figured that I would start with a lower priced Chromebook, to see if it really worked for me, & if it doesn't I will just give it to my son for school. It has only been one day since receiving. My initial reactions so far, I am pleased with feel & look. The screen quality is fine for me. It's not top of the line quality, & you do have to look at it from straight-on or you can not see clearly, but I don't mind that at all, actually like that other people would have a difficult time looking at my work from the side. Quiet, starts up & shuts down immediately. I enjoy that it doesn't get hot on the bottom during use either, that's a plus. Light weight. The speaker quality doesn't bother me as mentioned in other reviews, it could be a deal breaker for others that care. I use earbuds anyways. The keyboard does not have back-lighting, which is a bummer for sure, this does bother me a bit. All in all I am pleased with my decision. I hope it remains that way in the future.

Good product for the low price
I bought this chromebook after spilling water on my MacBook Air and needing a cheap option to get me through work and school. After having used this chromebook for about a month, I have to say that overall it is a cute little computer it is a good product for the low price. If you just need it for basic web browsing and a few apps (no heavy gaming, no professional video editing, etc) it works great. It’s a little quirky in that it doesn’t run some programs (i.e. Microsoft programs) nearly as well as google programs, but that doesn’t bother me at all because I like using Google Sheets, Docs, & Slides. Some reviews I read commented on the low screen quality, and I was a little nervous before purchasing the computer because of this. When I opened up the computer, I was pleasantly surprised. I’m a video editor and I had no issues with the look of the screen.Make sure when you first buy the computer to plug it in and leave it plugged in for the designated amount of time on the instructions. I made that mistake and thought I had a faulty product that stopped turning on, which I had previously also read reviews about, but as it turns out, it was a user error on my part.Overall, it works well, does the job, and will get you through basic school tasks. I will forever be a Mac person, but this is a temporary and functional alternative.

Just Fantastic!
I read some online reviews of this laptop in addition to the reviews on here; based on those, I was expecting to be satisfied, but underwhelmed. Not the case at all! The keyboard is excellent, the computer feels like quality and is very sturdy-feeling. Some people have complained about the track pad "ratting", but honestly the way it's designed feels like an intention (and pleasant) tactile touch rather than poor design. That's just me. It feels like it's designed to be easy to tap with a finger rather than clicked with a firm press (though of course both work fine). The hinges of the screen are just the right amount of tight. I love the matte of the screen itself, and it goes as bright as I need a screen to go. I do tend to use computers indoors, but I'm sure it could handle daylight, especially with the anti-glare. As far as resolution, I really don't know what folks claiming it's grainy are talking about. It doesn't seem grainy to me at all, nor does it make my head hurt. HD videos look HD on this machine.Battery is fantastic. I get about 8 hours or so it seems while using the internet and typing and occasional videos. I still haven't broken the battery in totally though, so it may get even better as it stabilizes. This computer runs quite quickly, despite having a pretty low-end processor. You probably could not run any games on this smoothly, but if you stick to videos and browsing and don't have a bajillion tabs open, it should keep up with whatever you are doing just fine.Very, very happy! I don't think anyone should hesitate on this one.
