The Keys To The Kingdom Collection 7 Books Set

The series gets 5 stars, they are excellent books that everyone in my family loves, my 8 yr old started out with the audiobooks and graduated to the hard copies to read himself.The lower rating is based on packaging and condition of the product. IT IS NOT A BOX SET. Based on the images and slightly higher price (package is more expensive than purchasing them individually), I thought it was a box set, but it is just all of the books in plastic wrap (I checked the product description, it doesn't actually say box set, so that's my mistake). I do think they are new, but due to the plastic wrap the edges/corners of all of the covers are slightly worn and bent. If this wasn't a gift I wouldn't particularly care, but since it was, it irked me that the covers didn't seem brand new.

I should have paid more attention to the one review on this. So I'm tossing my review out there to help out. Do pay attention to both reviews on this item - mine and the one other.First off - the Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix is wonderful - go buy it. But this listing says 7 hardcover books. You may get that, I suppose, if you choose correctly on the Amazon seller lotto - I did not. I got 4 books, one in paperback, one an ex-lib. They didn't even have the decency to send me the first book, so I couldn't start reading the series. I know it's possible I may be tanking some of the other sellers who may legitimately have this series for sale. But buyer beware on this one - make sure the seller you're buying from has a stellar "seller rating." Amazon should really delist sellers who do this. In this particular seller's case, you can find a number of "seller reviews" that say they do exactly this thing - list a series in hardback, send you an incomplete series that is clearly not all of one set in size or format. It really sours the whole experience for buyer and good sellers when one seller does stuff like this. They should not be allowed to sell on Amazon any longer. I'd use the name of the seller, but I want this review to stay, and if I put the seller it might not get approved. I have left a very negative seller review, so be sure to check seller reviews as well. Don't make the mistake I did.

I bought this when I was going to university. I never finished this series when I was a kid and I'm glad I finally got to do so.The books were packaged very nicely. While I don't remember what price I bought it at, these books are glossy. Very nice.The books are very well written, describing the main character's journey through the houses, winning keys as he goes along. The world is very interesting and unique and it's not often you get a story where the main character has asthma.All in all, a good read for kids and adults alike.

As some others have pointed out, this is NOT the full collection what so ever.You will get some of the books, they are in okay shape - I bought these fully understanding and knowing they will not be brand new. They are not brand new for sure, some wear on them but that add's character at least!I am disappointed that there is TWO books missing which I will have to order after the holiday's are over. This was also a gift, so that's unfortunate as well. My boyfriend read these books when he was younger and been wanting to read them again, this was a huge surprise for him as he did not realize I knew about this little detail about him. Regardless he was super excited to get them.For sure get this if you're whiling to have to order some books that are missing. I am missing Wednesday and Friday..

I love this series! I read it several years ago and decided to buy the series for my 12 yr old daughter for Christmas. Garth Nix is an excellent writer and this is a great series for older kids, teens and young adults. I also live his Abhorsen series. So you know my taste in books, I love are anything from Brandon Sanderson, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, the Iron Druid series from Kevin Hearne, Red Rising series by Pierce Brown.

My wife and grandkids are really enjoying these. Would have given 5 starts but they are just shrink warp without a box to hold them. Wasn't in the description, was hoping to be surprised!

Great series. Seems too well packaged in the end. I think Nix tried to put too many things into the last couple books.

Oh my gosh. A brilliant set of books. Bought as a surpise Christmas present for my 15 year old and she read them all in a couple of days. I thought they may be a bit young for her as I bought them on a whim after she had read some other Garth Nix books, Clarion etc, but she thoroughly enjoyed them and told me I had to read the first one. So yes, I have read the first one, and it is non stop action and a story unlike anything else I have read! I am now on to reading book two. Garth Nix is a great find!

arrived very quickly, packaged very well so in perfect condition and my nephew will not put these books down he is 12 and absolutely loves them. well done to the author for getting a 12 year old boy tech head away from his tech world :)

Excellent and very understated.

Enthusiastically read by my 11 year old. He now wants to read everything written by Garth Nix. A great way of engaging tween age boys who love reading books with powerful description and higher order Languge .

I may be 60 plus, but, this series is rather a great find!
