Incredible Portable Speaker with Impressive Build and Sound Quality
I’ve been using the Marshall Willen portable speaker for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, the build quality is exceptional. The speaker feels incredibly durable and well-made, with a robust design that gives me confidence in its longevity. The battery life is another standout feature. I can go for hours without needing to recharge, making it perfect for long outings and extended use. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into making sure this speaker can keep up with an active lifestyle.Sound quality is where this speaker truly shines. The audio is rich and clear, with a surprising amount of bass for such a compact device. Whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, everything comes through crystal clear. One of my favorite features is the latch on the back of the device. This allows me to strap it to virtually anything – my backpack, bike, or even a tree branch when I’m out camping. It’s a simple yet highly effective addition that makes this speaker even more versatile and convenient.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the Marshall Willen. It’s a perfect blend of quality, durability, and outstanding performance. Highly recommended!

Good, but not amazing
I bought this on sale to replace a 15+ year old cheap plastic set of non-branded PC speakers that looked very ugly in my living room. I figured this would be a significant sound quality upgrade as well as looking much better. It definitely delivers on the latter, but the sound quality is surprisingly mediocre. Here's what I love:- Great design / looks. I know this is subjective, but for me this speaker looks fantastic.- Excellent build quality. This compliments the looks with very natural looking faux leather, sturdy knobs and buttons, neatly aligned frames and accents. Of note the back board appears to be plastic rather than wood, although the sidewalls are definitely wood (or mdf, not sure without taking it apart).- Really fun little guitar riff chime when turning on/off or connecting to a bluetooth device. A functionally meaningless upgrade, but makes it feel so much more like a premium product, and keeps it strongly in the Marshall family.- Some songs do sound amazing on this thing. The sound is much clearer than most people need in their daily use, and the speaker delivers great complexity on a decent range. Unsurprisingly heavy bass guitar features really do shine here. Here's what I was hoping for more on:- It is just not a very powerful speaker. I was surprised at how little the difference was between my old (probably cost £15-20) 2.1 speakers and this thing. Trebles come through clear even if you crank it all up, but the bass muffles after a while. Also, play however you like with the knobs, on higher volumes the bass simply dulls some of the treble, rather than delivering both.- The power cable at the back connects pointing straight out. They really could have included an elbow joint cable instead to allow you to lead the cable away sideways. It is a minor point, really nitpicking here.Final thoughts:I have not downloaded the marshall app to play around with sound profiles, so this may change my opinion of the sound quality. In my opinion I should not have to do this to get good sound of a decent speaker, but I appreciate it may be my laziness.I will probably give the bigger versions a try at some point in the future to compare. I was torn between the Acton and the Stanmore for my small front room. The Acton went on sale for £160ish, so I pounced on it. I can see the Stanmore is on sale now for £230; I am not sure I would pay £70 for a small upgrade but it may be worth it for the better analogue input and the slightly increased power if it does deliver a better profile. The Woburn looks like the best sort of standalone to fill a large room, but the price tag on that is way beyond these two, so I would not even consider that.Over all the Acton II is a decent little speaker, but not quite the exploding metal gig I was expecting out of the box.

Fantastic sound in a compact design!
The Marshall Speaker is absolutely brilliant. Despite its small size, the sound quality is outstanding, with clear highs, rich mids, and surprisingly strong bass. It fills the room effortlessly and is perfect for both indoor and outdoor use.The stackable feature is a unique touch, allowing multiple speakers to connect for an even bigger sound. The rugged design is stylish and durable, and the battery life is excellent, lasting hours on a single charge. Pairing via Bluetooth is seamless, and the controls are intuitive. If you’re after a portable speaker with great sound and iconic style, this is a top-notch choice. Highly recommended!
