I shopped around and compared multiple different kits and this one was definitely the most complete- especially w/a large number of pH strips and easy to follow instructions. If you do not get the deluxe kit you do need to order at least 6 glass bottles and a funnel. I followed the instructions on Dec 22 and managed to forget to cool the rest of the water before adding to the SCOBY in the gallon jar. The temp read off the chart at above 96F and I was sure I'd scorched the living daylights out of my pet project. I emailed the 'Bucha Brewers and they got back to me with a helpful and reassuring (and correct in the end!) email letting me know it would all probably work itself out.I'm here to tell you it did work....too well. Now I'm addicted! Warning folks: this is a LOGARITHMIC HOBBY.From just Dec 22 to now on Jan 2, I've made 3/4 of a gallon and just set up my original SCOBY and its offspring (at which I exclaimed, "Awww, a BABY!" upon discovering its presence this evening) into my 2nd and 3rd batches this time using barley tea. I fear I'll soon be overrun, found Howard Hughes-style in a few months surrounded by large glass jars filled with fermenting liquids at varying degrees of the sugar water to vinegar spectrum., muttering to myself about degrees Brix and

This is my first time brewing and this starter kit made everything very easy! The starter kit came with everything included, and the instruction is very clear and succinct, making it easy to follow. As a first-time brewer, I didn’t find any part of the instruction unclear or ambiguous. Every measurement (amount, temperature, pH etc) is clearly stated. There are also a ton of information on the website that I found helpful, especially on maintaining SCOBY for future fermentation!I recently completed the primary fermentation step and I’m loving the flavor! Day 9 is the right flavor for me and my husband. The original SCOBY I placed in the first fermentation grew another baby SCOBY, and I’m starting a SCOBY hotel to store them while I get more supplies for my second (and bigger) batch!I can honestly say this starter kit has been a hassle-free and worthwhile investment as I venture into the world of Kombucha brewing. The product is very easy to use and at a great price, and I’m looking forward to trying out some of the Kombucha recipes on the website when I brew my future batches!

Like that the kit includes everything needed for a first timer. Unfortunately the lid came cracked so I haven’t been able to use the kit yet. Trying to reach the manufacturer to see if they will send out a replacement lid.Update: The customer service is excellent. We were given friendly and quick responses, and a new replacement lid was sent with no questions asked. Responsive and caring.

This is the perfect starter kit for kombucha brewing. It comes with everything you will need for brewing one batch of kombucha. After the first batch, you will need to buy extra items to start a new batch, such as sugar, coffee filters, and possibly rubber bands (unless this one lasts). It comes with detailed instructions, and is packaged well. I'm actually going to buy a couple more of these for my sister, and my friend.UPDATE: I absolutely love this kit! I made two amazing batches of kombucha so far! It brewed perfectly, and had the perfect taste. I will definitely be ordering another kit for myself, my sister, and one for my friend. The scoby is healthy, thriving, and brewing another batch! Definitely get this kit! It makes everything so much easier when a kit is put together, but most importantly a thriving scoby and starter tea are included. You can't go wrong for this price.

Ok so im on my 2nd fermation for my kombucha and I have to say THANK YOU for having everything together and so Damn easy! My baby scoby some how went way down into the batch, however it was still attached to a new healthy scoby! After checking on day 7 when I went to do a taste test, daddy scoby came up and made ANOTHER scoby for 7 more days (was too sweet for me) so I now have a very happy scoby hotel with just my 1st go at this...honesty the price is perfect! It came with everything and everything worked great!!! If ur a newbie I highly recommend getting one of these set! You won't have any regrets!

Do yourself a favor & get this kit! I have been somewhat of a kombucha addict for the last year, & finally decided to look into home-brewing.This kit's price was the best I found, so I decided to try it out. The instructions were easy as can be. A week into my brew, I had this monster baby scoby & awesome smelling kombucha!I also checked out the website & found some recipes for second fermentation. I just put together a few strawberry basil bottles & can't wait to break into them. just wish I would have switched to home-brewing sooner!

Starter tea expired by the time a received the product. Received on 12/14/2019 and the product expired on 12/12/2019. Very disappoint!

This is an ok kit to start making your Kombucha, in my opinion though the type of tea that they sent in my opinion is not great quality. I basically threw out their tea and used my own, the other thing though that made me question my order of this kit was instead of sending a linen or cotton cloth to cover the Kombucha jar with, they sent cheap ass coffee filters, which by the way don't really work as well as an all cotton cover for your Kombucha jar. Also the tea bag that they sent looks almost like it was made out of a plastic, I didn't use their reusable tea bag either. Those things I thought were a disappointment, but their Kombucha starter was good, their ph strips are fine and I'm still making Kombucha from it.
