Actually pigeons are perching on air conditioners. The fixing arrangement provided is not suitable for this location. I circumvented the problem by using double sided adhesive tape. It has been effective so far. Depends how long the tape will hold

It is better to install a net in the balcony which works ...
Birds do t care. They inspect for few days then perch in between the spikes. Sticking is also messy job and outdoor AC unit will be completely messed up if double sided sticking tape in pasted on the unit. The AC maintenance person will not attend your complain when you call them next time.It is better to install a net in the balcony which works effectively and also looks decent and attractive whereas these spikes looks like a jungle. Handling of spikes is also very dangerous. Not a safe idea. You may get hurt by the spikes.

Also was easy to install
Works superbly. Also was easy to install. We could reinforce with pieces of wire as it was flat bar that needed the coverage. Didn't have to use nails & drill.

Best if you are facing pigeon problem
First I saw it in New York. I never thought such a thing is available in my own city too. Best if you are facing pigeon problem.Nothing can replace it.
