Good value for money!

Fantastic solution for DSLR audio. No hassles of managing cables and external recorders. Works on boom or on camera. Headphone monitor output. Good pickup from source sound and intuitive menu system. Recommended hundred times over Rode Video Mic. Serious about your DSLR audio? GET IT!

I was not expecting such sound feed from it but it amazed me with its sound quality.Excellent mic quality excellent pickup n easy to handle.I actually got something on which i can rely for my Dslr n i just luv it . It's far better then Rod.Suggestion. ..if ur going for add on mic go for shure vp83f.

Excellent product. Sound is terrific.Just need a side shoe mount so that i can use the camera screen as well. Very well built, and sturdy product.

When I first got this mic I felt that I'd overpaid for it. Even maybe bought something surplus to requirements. A little shotgun mic for £300... sounds a bit steep. Except it isn't just a little shotgun mic. It's a recorder as well. I bolted it onto a C-stand this morning and used it to record some VO narration and I have to say I am blown away by the quality. It's sold Shure quality, for sure. I took it into Premiere, did a tiny bit of adjusting and got it just how I wanted it. So I guess the point is this - this a audio recorder and shotgun mic which on camera gives you a great way of capturing atmospheric sound / interviews with more than one person / run and gun interviews with one person / and general event footage. And that sound can be captured in exceptional quality on a mini SD inside the shot gun as well as in the camera. You could do what I did and hook the mic onto a stand / gorilla pod and use it as a stand alone recorder. You can monitor the audio and easily adjust the gain. It's not perfect, but I researched this a lot and like what I've now got. It feels solid. Yes, it's pricey, but in the long run it will pay back - and in fact, it already has.

Beautiful sounding microphone but not cheap! On board recorder works well and serves as back up or can be used on its own.

I like the fact that it can record audio on the device as well as on to the camera.

This mic is great sounding and the fact that you can record without plugging it into the camera is good so you don’t have the extra internal camera sound added and no wires to and fro. Just have to sync the audio. You still have the extra option of plugging it if you want. The only thing I don’t like is for the price and the brand I was expecting a lower self noise than that in quiet environments (hissing sound). If you are constantly talking or have music in the background or any loud environment than you won’t hear all that hissing.Nice spring for any extra movement, feels solid all metal.
