Pioneer AVH-2400NEX 7" Touchscreen Double Din Android Auto and Apple CarPlay In-Dash DVD/CD Bluetooth Car Stereo Receiver

After first, buying a cheap Chinese double din and being thoroughly, deeply, highly etc, etc disappointed with my purchase I realized, when it comes to car stereos’s, you really get what you pay for. The issues that cheap crap leaves you with is not worth it. I found the Pioneer AVH 2400NEX and payed for it happily. I’ve owned Pioneer stereos in the past and always had good luck. All these new double din car stereos are now computers that play music. I would expect a glitch or two here and there but not a constant battle of pure aggravation. I installed the stereo myself. I had pre purchased a Subaru adapter and a parking brake bypass and installed those before sliding it into place. Pretty darn easy. I fired it up and it came to life quickly. I went through the setting up hum drum and then tried the Apple Car Play. Works great! Sounds really good as well including the Bluetooth and regular FM radio. It pulls in stations like it should. My Chinese piece of scrap could barley pull in a local station. All hands free features work good. The hands free phone calls sounds superb. Again, the Chinese POS never did sounds clear and the person on the other end always got annoyed with the feedback and echo. The 2400NEX is crisp and clear. So, this, not being a super high end car stereo but not a low end one for sure either, sounds and comes with a lot of features. Especially love the Apple Car Play. I am not an Android user so I can’t comment on that. Money well spent so far.

First off, I really really like this head unit. I have a few minor complaints about the interface but some may be corrected with firmware updates. The sound is phenomenal for a unit in this price range. The hands-free mic is very clear and easy for people to understand me on the other end of a call. I use an iPhone, so the CarPlay feature is really appreciated and works well. The custom screen-tilt feature is just plain awesome! The customization of the most important stuff is pretty powerful and easily set up. My only real complaints are these: 1. Would be nice to have a way to opt out of the nag screen that comes up every single time (might be by law, so might not be something Pioneer can help). 2. There are no dedicated hard buttons for fast forward/reverse. You have to hit a control button and then use a touch-screen interface for that. Too many buttons to push, IMO. Also, they could have made room with the useless camera view button. Most people don’t need this or can even use it. Cramming in one more button on the bottom and making it a FFD and REV would have been a better use, IMO. 3. There seems to be a weird bug that occasionally makes the bass all but disappear in IPOD mode. You have to disconnect and reconnect the iPhone to make it work right. This is probably something that a firmware update can fix. 4. Very occasionally, it will lock up or go dead and it takes a forced reboot to get it to come back up. This has only happened twice in 2 months. Also something that can probably be fixed with a firmware update.

This is absolutely the best stereo I have ever operated, easy to use, best features, and best sound!!!You will not go wrong with this unit!!

The good:The screen does very well at showing what you need to see.Excellent connection and control when connected through usb to my iPhone. CarPlay is the best.Can still play that CD you pick up at a truck stop on a long road trip or that copy of ‘Over the Top’ you have been dying to watch but your wife won’t let you play it in the house. Yes, this thing plays DVDs as well. Imagine sharing that special time with your best friend, watching the movie that starts you on the road to competitive arm wrestling where you find yourself spending a lot of nights in your car.The bad:Let’s face it, it doesn’t do so hot when connecting to Spotify via Bluetooth. I love that you CAN control Spotify when attached via Bluetooth however this unit seems to have an issue with consistently making that communication connection.Oh well, you are likely just going to plug your phone into it so you can get a charge. Besides, direct connection is way better than Bluetooth for audio. I said it and I stand by it.This unit does not come with a remote.I made the mistake of purchasing the 2440 and liked that it came with a remote.BSM button - this is the dream of satan. The best station memory button sound great at first. “Oh, I can hit a button while in a new city and it will automatically scan and save the stations with the best reception?? Sign me up!” Until you realize this button is rather prominent on the unit and not put somewhere in a menu function so that your “friends” can’t just randomly poke it and mess up all the hard work you went through to organize 3 pages of station presets.Not a fan of push buttons for volume control but that really isn’t used much in today’s double din stereos.Overall you will most likely like this stereo, so why not buy it?Enjoy

I had ordered the AVH-1400NEX as the reviews said it was the one need to use with Andriod Auto (Wrong). Since this was the upgrade to the 1400, the wiring harness and screws all fit perfectly so I returned the one that came with the 2400 in the 1400 box and recycled the Amazon box to ship the 1400 in its box back. After messing with the phones and AA I was able to "pair" both our phones to the car. Installation was easy. The hardest part was finding the e-brake power and reverse for the backup camera (not installed at this time) I was able to take both right off the instrument cluster. I recommend buying the adapter harness. It makes instalation much easier.

for starters I have always been about the systems in my vehicles. every single vehicle i have owned i have never gone with another brand than pioneer. the quality, the sound, and the functions are amazing. has separate sub setting which i love and overall amazing.

Got the stereo installed professionally just to find out the stereo was bad out of the box but my return period had already expired by the time I took it in so I'm just out $400.00
