Computer 12" Dual Red Cold Cathode Kit for Sound Control Module

These things offer great ambient lighting for computer cases, unlike directed lighting in LEDs, I've already used them in a couple cases. They can be mildly difficult to get placed in your case (if you want them hidden from direct sight), especially when you don't want to use the adhesive and Velcro that comes with them so DEFINITELY think about how you're going to mount these in your case first. I have personally gotten them strung up with spare cable ties from cable management. The cordage on these can also be difficult to manage if you want to hide them as the cords are... well... kinda short. Not TOO short, but short. And yes, the color in the picture they've supplied is legit, just take a look at the pics I've supplied below (although their's does look like they're brighter, and truth be told I wish they were a tad bit brighter). It doesn't come through as well in lighted areas, but it's still pretty spot on.PS, camera is kinda junk so the pics aren't great, but good enough to get the point across for those looking to buy.Hope this helps :)

These are ancient new old stock so you're taking a bit of a gamble here. Immediately smelled leaky caps on opening the packaging and to little surprise the power supply is not outputting enough voltage to fully illuminate the tubes. Gave a second star due to them being cheap at least.

Really sweet lights. Run great and bright in my new build. They don't heat up the system at all either.My only complaints are that the cables running from the PCI switch to the PSU hookup are a little awkward and could be designed a bit better, and the Velcro it comes with is sticky, but I had one light fall off in a week (just re-stuck it and it held).

Failed after about a minth

This light set is a good value for the price... It comes with two cathode rods in a plastic tube (to prevent damage). The light is bright but not over-powering. I like cathode tubes because it lights up evenly where LEDs are uneven because of the distance between the LEDs. I only wish that the tubes were a bit longer as my case windows were 15" in size and the 12" tubes left a dark area on the ends. The power inverter comes in a blue rectangular box which stands out pretty prominently if you have a windowed case. I painted the inverter black to make it blend in with the case.As others have said, the self-sticking Velcro tabs are useless. After four hours, the tubes fell from the top of the case. I ended up using black silicon caulk to stick it in the case. The instructions are printed on the box and is very small... You need a magnifying glass to read them...

I am very happy with this purchase. The product is great and is exactly as I envisioned. These cathodes feel sturdy and give out a bright (but not too bright) red glow and really does wonders with the green spotlights I also purchased. Highly recommended.

these light up an orangey red, not a deep red like i had hoped.. this is nothing like a red LED, so just buyer beware, your buying orange cathodes not red ones
