Nice toy but not for super-chewers
This was a very attractive and good quality tug toy and my dog loved it. I use the past tense because it only lasted a few days at the mercy of the jaws of my super chewer Staffie. Despite taking it away from him when he got ‘over enthusiastic’ he still managed to bite through the knot and then the tug was doomed. It did give his teeth a good flossing whilst it lasted though! It would have been easy to wash if it had lasted long enough which is why I gave it 5 stars there.

Wrongly described in my opinion
Good quality item but the body of the tug toy it's way shorter than the whole length of it ( Only 8 inch, the rest is fluffy fleece. My dog is a medium size and for one pound I had better buying the longer one. In few words buy the small one only if your dog is a small size one.

Seemingly indestructible!
Best tug of war toy! Normal rope toys our dog gets her teeth through and cuts the threads, making a mess and breaking the toy. This one she can't get her teeth through! We've had it months and it's her favourite for tug of war, it's long enough you don't risk any accidentally nipped fingers (as she readjusts her mouth for a better grip). She chews the loose ends and knots but still hasn't made any damage. Well worth the money! We have a standard poodle and got the large. Love the fact you can choose your colours too. Ours is a pretty purple, navy and red which suits out decor!

Great fun, but...
I've been dog sitting for a fabulous doodle, who deffo like something to chew on and play tug of war with. When I saw he'd all but chewed the head off his donk, I thought I'd give this a go. Just for reference, he is a big ish boy, with the mouthing attributes of his retriever heritage. It arrived just as expected. It's just the most tactile thing from a human perspective. Soft felt, bright colours, beautifully braided. I couldn't persuade the boy to chew a knot, he preferred to mouth the middle section, with me hanging on to the two knotted ends. This worked well, until I realised that he was using his sharp little teeth to worry at the strands. He'd do this without me hanging on, he enjoyed that so much! So, unfortunately, when he broke through one of the strands, and half way through another, I had to retire it. 5 days it lasted. Great as a treat, but not doable as a regular thing. If he was mine, permanently, I'd be looking for something more robust, but still soft for the mouth - probably a difficult ask!For a less 'mouthy' dog, or a smaller one, I'd think this would have a longer life.

Swishy and enticing
Doris loves this! You can make it dance and swirl and the movement is really enticing. It’s got enough stiffness to use it to direct your pup to spin or do tricks like running through your legs but it’s utterly soft for a young dog’s mouth. It’s kind of like rhythmic gymnastics for dogs.Colours fab (though I don’t know if she sees them).Small enough to take out on walks to distract your pup. I would say it’s a toy you keep to play actively with your dog rather than one to leave on the ground.Would definitely replace if this were ever lost or damaged.

Good for Puppies I think
I've bought one of these toys recently for tugging as I think the majority of rope toys use quite hard rope and the 4 month puppy is teething so I wanted something a bit softer. I plumped for this version and it arrived on time. It's very bright and obviously 'luring' in of itself and I've had to issue various 'No' and 'Sit' commands any time it's been brought out to counteract the enthusiatic jumps to get at it.I'm no expert but I do think the softer material is better for playing tug with a teething puppy. Before buying this I had preferred playing tug with plush toys rather than hard rope. This feels softer and I prefer it for now anyway.Even though I got the small version it is somewhat longer than any of the plush toys I have. The length is a bit of a bonus too. It's over a foot long and the length allows you to tug comfortably with the toy in hand and at the dog's mouth level without having to stoop over at all, so its more comfortable for me to use. There are little fleece segments at each end which the dog naturally goes for and gets purchase on. Those have started to go after two or three sessions so I don't know how long they will last but my impression is that the dog could still get purchase on the main body of the rope anyway, which is again softer that other rope toys I have and I expect that this will last a little while, although not as long as a hard rope toy.The dog certainly seems to like it. I'll give it 4 stars as I expect it'll only last a month or two so durability might be an issue but for a teething pupply I certainly think that something like this is worth it.

Puppy perfect
UPDATEI brought this toy and didn’t know whether it was going to be ok. WOW. I have a 20kg six month old puppy playing full on tug and it’s taking it in its stride. I really am impressedOriginal reviewI am really pleased with this toy. I have a puppy and don’t like rope toys. I have seen other puppy raisers use these toys and was so pleased with it. Really well made.

Highly recommended
This is a strong well made toy. When I opened it I didn’t think it would last long as our Jack Russell loves tug toys and has checked through 2 rope toys in the last 2 months. However, he loves this toy as he can tug it, chew it and even has a go at shaking it. It looks as good as the day it arrived. Love the fact that it is washable too so I can keep it hygienic. Well worth the money as it is saving me money in the long run as it is so robust.
