Mosby's Review for the NBDE Part II - E-Book

I ordered up this book a few weeks ago to prepare for the Part II NBDE and so far I have not been very impressed. While there is a lot good information in there, it is not very concise and seems to be missing some key information. You have to wade through lot of words to find the important stuff. Examples of missing info: it doesn't talk about how many canals are in typical max/mand teeth and what are their variations, it doesn't give details on the MSA/ASA blocks (only PSA and IO nerve block), or details/diagrams of the different space infections. I will say it has a lot of study questions with explanations and a practice test which are helpful. Even then though, the study questions are not always answered specifically in the text and I have to refer to other materials for a review of some topics. Overall, it may be worth the money just for the study questions (in the book and the CD), but you may look to another source for a more concise and comprehensive review.

Used the dental decks for Part I & hated 1. the awkward size/shape of essentially a giant box of flash cards, 2. the extremely disorganized format, 3. the inconsistent depth/breadth of topic coverage, 4. obvious errors/contradictions in the information presented. For Part II, I used only this book & passed without issue. Save yourself the aggravation of the decks & get a book/disc. I liked this book best of the ones I looked at, but had friends using different brands that has success with those as well.

I ordered this because it was said to be the best review book out there for Part II. Maybe it is, not for me though. I found it hard to follow and it skipped around on topics. It did not have the greatest way of explaining things, a lot of topics I had to cross reference with other review books or my textbooks. I'm now on to using a different review book.

Book was okay. Kinda boring and not organized as well as I would have liked. Some things were missing from the book. I ended up mostly reviewing using this book but also supplementing with the dental decks (particularly sections that were missing from the book, like radiology). Ended up passing Part II so something worked.

This material does a good job of giving you a broad overview of the topics covered on the board (which is all it claims to do). I found the practice questions to be most helpful. I had several questions on my exam last month that I had seen either at the back of the sections or on the included CD. I found myself wanting more and referring to the decks or to my class notes in several sections, but overall this is a great review for the boards.

No complaints whatsoever, it came when its was supposed and the information helped me learn and pass, thanks for everything

not all figures are available on the kindle edition and the layout in the ebook format is just awful. wish we can get pdf of print version instead.
