Item was packaged nicely. I only use it when I’m running the pole saw attachment. Helps with reaching limbs that are out of reach. Does what it says.

I use this on my Makita power tool to make the chainsaw attachment longer to get limbs cut. It lets you get a better angle so the chips don’t fall on your head. Better than standing on a ladder with a powerful tool.

I use this with my (DUX60 (or XUX01Z) 2x 18v power head, and 5.0Ah batteries, driving an already heavy EN401MP 20" articulating hedge trimmer. Once you add this extension, then you are working with about 20 lbs. (US) or 9.0 Kg. That is a lot of weight. I trim large Olive trees, and work on a ladder, often in space challenged areas and can say that the extension is totally manageable for a person in shape. I am a 60 year old who is 6' tall weighing 190 lbs. I can only hoist the thing (sometimes above my head at times), for about 20 minutes before taking a break. The extension is very solid, but all told this is 145 inches (12 feet) long. And about 7 lbs. of it is at the other end. This does however allow 75% of my work to be done standing on ground. And that is a huge advantage when controlling this whole thing. That said, it is allowing me to make very short work (hours instead of days), of my olive trees around the property. This whole system is great. I highly recommend it.

Helpful to help trim huge bush in front of house. It becomes a lot to handle. I’m 6 feet tall and about 275. I’m past my prime and nearing 50. But, I could handle it as a weekend warrior. I would not advise if not confident in your strength. It is a lot to manage with a head trimmer on other end. But it does it’s job. I would not advise adding more than one of these unless your a Hercules, like “Whas machen Sie?” “Shimmen”. Arnold says to the sea captain awesome scene in German.

It is an extension shaft. It extends the reach of the powerhead to the implement. I am using it with the angle adjustable hedge trimmer. The combination of the LXT 2 battery head, shaft, and the trimmer is heavy! Heavy duty and powerful but I do not suggest this for smaller people. I am large and waving the cutting bar 8 feet above my head is a workout. The shaft appears light for the task of holding the larger hedge cutting bar but works like a charm. It would probably be a dream with the lighter hedge cutting attachment or the limb saw. If you are a big flannel wearing lumberjack looking person this combo will make you feel like a beast and you will have beautiful tall hedges, olive trees and whatever else needs a haircut. Giddy up.

This looks like a very well constructed pole trimmer extension. Despite the rave reviews I am returning it because it does not fit the "Makita XAU01PTB, 8' Length (5.0Ah) 36V (18V X2) LXT Brushless 10" Pole Saw Kit, Teal". If you want the extra length maybe the "Makita XAU02PTB, 13' Length (5.0Ah) 36V (18V X2) LXT Brushless 10" Telescoping Pole Saw Kit, Teal" will be a better choice and you won't have fit issues. Wish I had done that in the first place. Love the saw in general so 5 stars for the Makita concept and battery system.
