We do not miss the MagCharger's focus feature, at all. That's because the LED's light output is consistently much brighter than the original incandescent bulb, ever.Whether close up or at the full distance throw of the beam, the light is much brighter. There is simply no longer any need for the focus control.We notice that the brighter, more daylight like, color temperature of the LED produces a much better contrast, as in photography, of the objects that it illuminates. Better identification of objects. The incandescent bulb always dimmed as the voltage of the battery decreased. The LED remains consistently bright every time.The battery now lasts much longer. Our secondary battery, that would barely illuminate the incandescent bulb, now causes the LED replacement to illuminate brightly. We might add "quickly" as well. When the button is pressed, the LED jumps to life / light while the incandescent used to relatively slowly come to life.We applaud the concept of recycling and extending the life of our venerable MagChargers. We are going to convert more of them. The savings versus buying a new LED MagCharger are negligible but we are perfectly happy to have our old friend, it's the same familiar grip, renewed to better than new specifications.Do be prepared to wait some weeks for arrival, patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait. It will arrive and you will then be faced with installation. Use your eyes and mind for installation rather than force. It's simple once you figure out. Subsequently we have dropped the light from five feet to concrete with no ill effects.If you have a MagCharger convert it with one of these. It's difficult to imagine how you could possibly be disappointed. We have noticed a few comments suggesting that this light is not as bright as some other LED lights presently on the market. We can't address any other lights but can unequivocally say that if your MagCharger with an incandescent bulb has been working for you, don't hesitate to convert / upgrade it. This LED conversion makes it much better than new.

I'll just say this, if you are using the old halogen bulb this will be a great upgrade for you. But there are other LEDs out there that are better. I already upgraded my LED to the Terralux TLE-310MR-ex bulb prior to buying this one. The Terralux is 1,000 lumens and I think its all of that rating and far superior to this LED. Extremely bright.When I put this one in I was disappointed in the brightness and distance as compared to the Terralux. No way this thing is 1,000 lumens. It's floody, with a tight hot spot. But its just not what I was expecting.BUT, it truly IS brighter than the old halogen bulb. It will breathe new life into your magcharger. But in my opinion if you're looking for a bright upgrade, go with the Terralux.I will say the seller was helpful about the issue, but did not offer to return it, so I'm out 65 bucks. I'll just keep it as a spare. It did take 32 days to get here to the US, but i knew that it was coming accross the pond ahead of time. Good communication and on day 30 it still hadn't arrived, so he was going to mail me another one thinking the first one he sent may have been lost. Then the first one finally showed. I hardly think shipping was his fault. Very nice gesture.

This item is a serious upgrade to the old brightness, however you do lose the ability to zoom in and out but its worth it. Item takes a while to get thru the mail but its worth the wait. New life into an old Maglite 20 years old!!

No CSB required! Led puts out a lot of light, enough to feel the heat from. Very focused beam with just enough spill over to light up a general area, good for preflights

Overall, I'm satisfied with this product. It provides a brighter, whiter light for my maglite rechargeable flashlight. You may have to make a minor adjustment to get the pins from the new LED to line up with the maglite bulb receiver, but this is easily accomplished. The one thing people need to keep in mind is that this product ships from England, so if you live in the US like I do, it's going to take a couple of weeks for your package to arrive. The quality appears to be legit, and given the fact I have another rechargeable maglite as a spare, I may purchase this LED upgrade for that one as well. It's a good product, and works as advertised.

I am a police officer and love my old Maglite that I've used on duty since 1998. Went through many bulbs and batteries over the years. The department recently gave us small LED lights for our belts. Bright and small, but I always resort back to the big Maglite. Love how it fits under the arm when dealing with suspects. Last night I had my first opportunity to use the Maglite with the new LED conversion. LOVE IT! Not as bright as some other LEDs but about 100 times brighter than the ol' holagen bulb that was I replaced! You lose the ability to change the beam from flood to spot, but then again, in the 19 years I've used the flashlight, I only used it in spot mode. Easy to install too. Pricey, but worth it. Especially when your life may depend on the light output!

Well made. Bright. The only issue I had was getting the pins to line up with the bulb socket. My socket had rotated so when I installed this, the pins bent. I was able to straighten them. Now it works great. It is at least as bright as the old bulbs(with magnifier end) but doesn't get as hot. The battery lasts longer too. The beam isn't adjustable but it is a more even light coverage.

Works great on my old halogen bi-pin magcharger. Only downside is its a bit tricky to get in your light. You have to get the pins to line up, then twist the insert to fit in place. Works great on patrol and will definitely for years to come.
