Amana Tool47224-S Miniature Flush Trim Plunge Template 1/4 Dia x 1/4 Shank

I needed to flush cut a pocket for final fitting. This bit was exactly what I needed. Amana makes high quality tools. Very happy with my purchase.

1st off, this is a very tough to find bit. Given it's delicate nature, most don't even want to sell it. I had some rather intricate inlay work to do, so picked this up. As long as you keep your expectations in check, go slow, with shallow passes, it works like a dream. Thumbs up!

The important thing about about this bit is that it makes a good clean cut. Using a template, it's very accurate. The cutting depth is shorter than I like, I need to make multiple passes for the work I do. But for shallow uses, it cuts very clean.

Should preface that mesquite is the wood being used to review this bit, but it only lasted for about an hour of cumulative use before the bearing was no longer reliable. Will still serve just fine in the router table taking tiny bites on pieces that can use the fence as a guide, but won't be using this one for template work anymore.

This high dollar trim bit worked great until the top bearings blew off trimming 1/8” pine. Was packaged for return immediately.

This size, used with templates, eliminates the need to go from your router, to a Dremel with smaller bits to 'clean up' pickup and battery box radii. Nice quality, sharp and cuts great.

I bought this to use with my template for some epoxy inlays. This bit works great for what I purchased it for.
