I will admit I was skeptical because I didn't think this mixer would meet the needs of my microphone, but I wanted to take a chance AND I AM SO GLAD I DID! I am using this with a Shure SM7B mic, which requires A LOT of gain to get a good sound. Installation was SUPER EASY. I plugged it in using the supplied USB C cable and 1/8" TRS to 1/8" TRS, plugged in my XLR cable to my microphone and WOW did it ever sound good through my headset. It is very responsive, compact and SUCH A GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY. I have used other professional equipment in sound reinforcement and mobile venues, and this is a great home studio or podcasting. I also plan to do some Audible book narrations with this setup. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Update: After struggling with a phantom powered mic for a while, I realized that using a non phantom powered mic fixes the problem. The phantom power is just too hot and too sensitive in this unit. Another fix would be to use the “pad” button which attenuates the phantom powered mic level so it becomes manageable. Adding the built in reverb makes the mic leveling with the pad function engaged much smoother. I just wish the reverb built into the unit had several varieties because the one it has is just too wet for my taste. I have received a replacement unit but it behaves exactly the same with the hot phantom powered mic level.Original review:I just need to say that this thing is incredible for the price. I use it strictly with my iPhone and it does everything I need it to do. Both AUX and BT audio are passed on thorough USB audio interface to my iPhone and that alone is a big deal. You can control levels and mute as needed. You can headphone monitor (2 of these with independent levels) and have line out audio to speakers as well which I connect to my guitar amp, also with level and mute for that as well! Just incredible.
