Awesome tester
Simple and easy to use. Yeah it might not have all the features the other "power probes" have but its 1/4 of the price.

Haven’t used it yet
I haven’t used this yet but I tested it to make sure it worked and worked great I think it will be a very handy tool working on automobile electrical systems.

Nice tool to have
The media could not be loaded. I used this to look for the honey comb of the cat converter, Its also helpful on car audio wiring installations to see tight spaces where you want the wires from engine bay to the car’s interior

Looking for those pesky electrical gremlins? Then this tester is for you!
I can't remember how many times I've chased circuits to solve gremlins in my vehicles, but this tester makes the process so much easier. Saved me hours of aggravation on a JDM Kei truck I just bought. Wish I had it when I had issues with my Land Cruiser. Easy to use and well priced.

For the Pro or DIYer
I've seen my share of electrical gremlins in vehicles, and a good circuit tester is an invaluable tool. Even for the DIYer just starting out, understanding basic automotive electrical systems is crucial, and a tool like this makes it significantly easier. Forget fiddling with alligator clips and trying to interpret tiny multimeter readings, especially in cramped engine bays. This tester offers a simple, intuitive way to diagnose common electrical issues. This particular circuit tester is a decent option, especially for the price point. It does exactly what it claims: tests for both positive and negative circuits, checks for ground, and can even apply power or ground to a circuit for testing component functionality. This last feature is particularly useful for isolating problems. For example, if a light isn't working, you can use this tool to apply power directly to the light fixture, bypassing the car's wiring, and quickly determine if the issue is the light itself or the wiring harness. The long cord is a definite plus, allowing you to reach those hard-to-access areas without constantly repositioning your power source. The clear red/green LED indicators are a welcome change from squinting at a multimeter display, especially in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. While I appreciate the included storage bag, I did notice the construction is not amazing. This means it's probably not going to withstand the same abuse as some higher-end, versions. Treat it with care, and it should last.Internally, the soldering isn't the cleanest I've seen. If you're comfortable with soldering, it might be a good idea to reinforce the connections for added durability. Also, the probe tip could be sharper for getting into tighter spots. While it doesn't have a built-in voltmeter, for the price, it's a trade-off I'm willing to make. You could even add a small, readily available digital voltmeter yourself if you're so inclined.Overall, this circuit tester is a solid choice for the weekend mechanic or anyone tackling basic automotive electrical work. It simplifies circuit testing and makes it easier to understand what's happening. While it might not be as robust as professional-grade tools costing several times more, the functionality and price make it a worthwhile addition to any toolbox. Just remember, like any tool, proper handling and care will ensure a longer lifespan. The price under $20 is great as well when you can get it with a coupon.

Like PowerProbe but NO BUZZER
The media could not be loaded. This probe is a budget clone of PowerProbe 3 that mostly has the same features and functionality - there are plenty of video guides online. Basically, you can probe for negative and positive voltage and also supply voltage to components by pressing a rocker switch. What is missing in this tool is the crucial feature of PowerProbe - an ability to probe without looking at the tool. PowerProbe would make different-toned sounds when touching negative and positive terminals. The tonality would also change based on the voltage, letting to quickly identify a bad contact. This tool, on the other, would only light up a recessed LED - good luck probing deep in the engine or under the dash. Note that there are other probes available on Amazon that would both light up a TRANSPARENT case AND do a beeping sound.Among minor complaints is that the rocker is on a smaller side and there are no accessories besides a pouch and two rolls of electrical tape (?).Further, the manual indicates there should be a buzzing sound when touching a short and the LED should change from red to green - my tool would simply turn blank, no sounds or LEDs. I have even exchanged the tool hoping it's just a manufacturing fluke - still no sound.Other than that, the tool is completely functional and does what it is supposed to do. Just be aware of the limitations as described above.UPDATE: I took the unit apart to see why the buzzer is not working and also to see if I can add my own sound indication - the circuit should be really simple based on a BC547 transistor. After some messing with the unit I have determined the buzzer kicks in only after the thermal fuse (yellow square on my photo) trips. The datasheet for the X30 UF700 fuse states the trip time can be up to 17 seconds. Sure enough, mine tripped at 16.5 seconds, after that the LCD came back to life and the buzzer started beeping.Keep this in mind when using the probe - you might not hear the beep upon a short until you hold it there for at least 15-20 seconds. The white LED light and LCD turning off is a much more reliable indicator. This should have been clearly stated in the manual (and perhaps the manufacturer should have chosen a faster fuse).
