Excellent grinder
This is the cheapest of the drill doctor but the way it performs you wouldn’t think so,I’ve sharpened over 50 different sizes of drill bits so far and I still have a lot more drill bits to sharpen some old drill bits that my father had, definitely worth it kinda sorry I didn’t purchase a drill doctor sooner instead of purchasing new drill bits, the diamond grind stone is holding up really well considering a lot of the old drill bits were sharpened freehand on a bench grinder if anything should happen to this drill doctor I’d definitely purchase another one maybe upgrade

First impressions
The drill dr does an adequate job of cleaning up dull bits or putting a new point on a broken bit. I have used my bench grinder for years and can obtain a better point on my bench grinder. With that said, if you don't have a bench grinder, or the ability to obtain a good point using one then this makes it simple. Your bits will be improved if you follow the directions.

Good unit for the money
This is a real decent unit for the hobbyist or back yard mechanic, which is what I am. It allows you to keep using those drillsets in which several have become dull, and buying individual replacements gets pricey. Although mostly plastic, the heart of the unit is a motor, grinding wheel and cam drill chuck, which allows grinding proper side and rake angles. These components seem of adequate quality. Getting drill depth set in chuck takes a little practice as does getting the feel for applying correct pressure when rotating in cam. The need to keep rotating multiple times is a bit tedious. I compared it to the Vevor unit and chose this smaller simpler unit because it was about 1/3rd the cost. If one were a machine shop they might very well want the higher quality Vevor, but for me this was quite adequate

Great for procrastinators!
After well over 50 years of replacing dull bits with new ones and never throwing the old ones away, "WHALLA", I finally did something worth while. I bought the 350X. Did not want to spend a bundle of money so I went with the least expensive one after reading so many positive reviews. It came today and I sat here and sharpened every one of my old bits. Probably at least 100 to 150! 1/2in and smaller. Mostly smaller. I'm very impressed with the results. It took the first 2 or 3 bits to get the procedure down pat, but after that it was a sinch. I expected there to be significant wear on the grinding wheel but it was almost unnoticeable. When I finished I still removed the wheel and reinstalled it 180 degrees. This was a very simple process with instructions in the manual. Probably will never have to do it again. For cleaning I took it out into my garage and used my compressor to blow the grit and dust out of it. Again, a very simple process. Unless you are using this for a business where you are constantly going through drill bits, I can see no reason to buy the more expensive units. The only thing you have to remember is that this unit will not take anything larger than 1/2in. Well worth the money spent.

it'll save you a fortune in new bits!
works great, i had one back in the 90s, glad to see it super affordable now, I use a lot of 1/8th bits, this machine makes them cut like new again

jury still out. Not anymore, can sharpen better on a grinder
Three stars because I have used two other drill doc, so it could be me. tried 6 drill bites, 2-1/4, 2-5/16 and 2-3/8s more or less sharpen to a point, with no defined center split.Well after 2 weeks I do not recommend.

Well worth the cost
As a retired mechanical engineer I've tried a number of drill bit sharpeners over the years. Some were highly technical and some were simply plastic junk. This sharpener really surprised me. It was simple to use and left the bits in like new condition. I tested a few of the bits I sharpened and they cut very well. I definitely recommend this device, it's worth the price.

Don’t rush the process
This drill bit sharpener works great . Take your time don’t rush it by adding pressure to the bit or the cutting stone
