AMAZING PRODUCT WITH AN AMAZING WARRANTY!!!!!!!
I am just beyond impressed with Amazon and Kindle! I bought my daughter a Kid's Kindle nearly two years ago. About a week ago it would not turn on at all. So I began the return process, which was a little tricky, to be honest. But I did get it done and received a brand new updated Kindle AND a case, which I did not expect! Turns out the kid dropped it in the bathtub, dried it well, and later stated it didn't turn on..... but that is ALL still under warranty. I cannot say enough for Amazon. It is an amazing little product anyways. My daughter reads incessantly.... the equivalent of 1 Harry Potter book every two days. We have Kindle Unlimited for our family and it is sooo worth it. The Kid Kindle comes with a subscription for kids, but she read all of them in the first year, so now she's just on our Kindle Unlimited. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! AND worth to note: this is the EXACT Kindle you will get if you get the adult one, just a cuter cover (you can buy another if you don't like it) and an amazing warranty. There are options to have it shut off at certain times, which is nice. We love that she brings it EVERYWHERE and always has her current book with her ready to read INSTEAD of being on a screen. The Kindle "screen" is a book, don't get me started, lol. #BooksNotiPads is our motto!!!

Perfect for young readers!
We absolutely love the Kids Kindle! It’s been a game-changer for encouraging my child to read more. The device is lightweight, easy to hold, and the adjustable lighting is perfect for reading day or night without straining the eyes. What really sets it apart is the Amazon Kids+ subscription—it comes with access to a huge library of age-appropriate books, and I love that I can set reading goals and track progress. The parental controls give me peace of mind, and the colorful protective case is both fun and durable. No distractions from games or apps—just pure reading. If you’re looking to get your child excited about books, this is absolutely worth it!

8 Year Old Loves It!
FANTASTIC tablet. My 8 year old loves reading before bed. She didn't have to plug it in for WEEKS and it just kept going! The UI is a bit meh, but I've never really been a fan of Amazon's UI on their devices. Regardless, she loves it and thats what matters!

Best gift I’ve ever bought myself as an ADHD brained individual
This is the best gift I’ve ever bought for myself. I couldn’t get myself to read and always wanted to read at night but also didn’t want to turn lights on or have blue light from my phone. This is the perfect balance where I can access all my books quickly in one place and change from light mode to dark mode, depending on day or night. It’s also the perfect thing to do when on the toilet as opposed to playing games or going on social media. HIGHLY recommend.

Good value!
Got it at a great deal to replace my 7 year old Kindle paperwhite that is having trouble keeping a charge. This works well and came with a case that is cute. Happy with it!

Kindle is nice, but kids profile is annoying
This is a standard kindle with a cover. It got my 8-year-old into reading chapter books and he has already ripped through 3 Harry Potters and 4 Minecraft books since Christmas. He reads at night and the backlight works well for that.My biggest complaint is how locked down the kids profile is. First off, I cannot turn it off because apparently there is a PIN that neither my wife nor I set and it doesn't match our Prime Video PIN. I can deregister and re-register it, but that is a pain. Secondly, I cannot send epub file to his kindle like I can to any normal Kindle. I can only share books that I've purchased through Amazon. Nice way to lock them down and pretend it is a feature. I did sign up for a few library cards because I can still share Libby purchases with him, but most of the books he wants have a long wait.If you want to be able to share your own books with your kids, or get them from sources other than Amazon or Libby, don't spend the extra money on the kids Kindle because it is a pain to turn off the Kids profile so they can access those books.

Some books cost money to buy
My wife bought one for my eldest son to read, and then bought another one for my youngest son. The child said he liked it very much. It is convenient for you to read books, and you can download them directly from the Internet.

Don’t waste your money 2.0
Updating my review after getting the 2 year worry free replacement to fix the bugs I discussed with customer service member Jason. His customer service was fantastic. However, registering the kindle kids to my daughter’s account has already caused it to crash so I’m not hopeful that there has been any improvement on the device itself. Still recommend spending the extra money on an adult kindle or another device altogether if you plan on using other books such as Libby. Again. The “free” books with the kindle kids subscription work great. Size and weight are great. However. If you plan on purchasing digital books even from Amazon good luck searching and transferring. Half the books even though totally age appropriate are not findable and purchasing to deliver them to the device is the reason I now have 3 new gray hairs. Good luck.******original review********I wish I could give this zero stars. My daughter (7) loves to read. She is always asking for new books. I buy them and deliver to her tablet no issue. However. This kids kindle requires multiple restarts, often doesn’t ever receive content I purchase from Amazon and is all around extremely frustrating. It is sized appropriately and is lightweight but that’s useless if she can only read the recommended books on the screen that don’t interest her. Overall it is a huge waste of money. Spend the extra 30 bucks to get an adult version or just use the kindle app on a tablet. Trust me. You won’t regret it. I hate that I wasted 100 dollars on a light up paperweight.
