What's not to like? Yes it seems like a lot of cash for an umbrella. But when you hold this one and operate it you can see the quality. The weave is so tight on the arch that in the rain it sounds like the water is hitting a soft shield. It's sturdy and if you care for it I would say at least a good 10 years of use wouldn't be an issue if you use it's cover and take care of it. So that's a little over 10 dollars a year! Or you can get a mc umbrella and be safe when it's gets shredded by the wind or the arms break off.

I try to buy quality products that will last. Disposable consumer goods are so wasteful and bad for the environment. At the price point of this umbrella, I expected a quality product that would last many years or at least top notch customer service from Davek. Unfortunately neither of these alternatives are the case. The button that allows you to open the umbrella fell off within the 15 minutes of using it the very first time. There is just a sharp metal piece of sheet metal left where the chintzy button used to be. Very poor quality control by the manufacturer. I asked Davek customer support just to replace the button so I could repair it myself, but they pretty much just blew me off with a 2 sentence reply email. Basically the Davek CSR couldn’t be bothered to help in any way. A $160 umbrella with no backing from the company. Let that sink in. I guess it is my fault for expecting more from the company. Do not buy. A $5 umbrella from a street vendor will last longer.

I've been looking for an upscale umbrella, one that functions well and looks good doing it...suitable for casual weekend outings, executive retreats, suit and tie walkabouts, and has the technical features to withstand a good bit of wind with the rain. Some of the high-end designer umbrellas look like an advertising billboard; definitely not what I was looking for. I especially like the leather and polished metal handle on this product, and its classic canopy shape. Having been caught in a downpour with a lower quality umbrella following a business meeting, I vowed to seriously upgrade. I went all-in, and also purchased a Davek Duet umbrella for travel to wet, windy, western Europe in the winter, and a Davek Solo as a gift.

Holds up great in windy rainy weather.

Although I haven't used the warranty, every umbrella comes with a 50 percent off on your next purchase meaning the next umbrella you get is only 75 USD. I definitely think its worth 75 usd but not 160 however with the addition of their "lifetime warranty" it may be very worth the 160 usd. I haven't used the lifetime warranty yet but I hope they will honor it when I break mine in a couple of years.

Very well made. Very sturdy and nice looking. Pricey but worth it with the warranty.
