Super7 has made a name for themselves over the last decade or so by playing the nostalgia card and bringing us some great action figures from classic fantasy and film-lover favorite franchises. I picked up a Willow figurine they released in the past and was quite pleased with it, so when I saw they had a series for Conan as well, I couldn't help myself and picked up one or two.As expected the details on the Thulsa Doom figure is commendable while still being a bit plasticky because, well, they're intended to mimic the action figures that were released way back when the film first came out.These aren't intended to have the same level of articulation or detail as other collectible figures with 60 points of articulation or swappable heads and hands with custom poses.These figures are meant to recreate that sense of nostalgia you had as a kid when you'd rip open toy and toss everything but the toy...and yet, now it's being priced ($20 at the time of review) the way a collectible would, and that makes this a weird purchase.I really wouldn't recommend this as a toy pick-up for a regular kid unless you're a parent who grew up with the original film and you just want to share that love of the film with your own kid REALLY badly, because this figure is marked up to about twice what a figure from a modern franchise from a normal toy company would put out.***Overall Value***The price definitely puts this safely in the "intended as collectible" category and so if you're buying it for any other reason than putting it on a shelf for display purposes you're paying a bit more than most other action figures this size would cost.
