Works really good have it hooked up just before my pressure washer it's crazy how much stuff it catches. Great value.

The media could not be loaded. This strainer seems to have decent quality materials with a plastic housing, a clear cup, and a stainless steel screen. It'll filter out sand and coarse particles to keep them out of your pressure washer or other pumps or water equipment that you want to protect from small debris. However, I noticed that when you remove the cup to clean the screen, the threads of the cup engage before both ends of the screen are piloted in the housing and the cup. This is a problem because it's possible to crush the end of the screen when screwing the assembly back together if you're not careful. The flow direction indicated on the housing would suggest that all of the sediment is going to collect on the inside of the screen as the inlet flow comes in the middle and exits on the outside of the screen. I took away one star because of the tedious procedure in assembling it without damaging the screen. Not a big deal if you don't have to clean it very often but something to pay attention to.

This is a nice quality inline water hose filter. The plastic molding and screen are well done, and it comes with a brass fittings and attachments that I wasn't expecting. I bought this to attach inline with my pressure washer, but in practice, I couldn't get it work. The water inlet on my pressure washer is located very low on the body. This meant that I couldn't put this filter in line and have it face upright because there isn't enough clearance. Then I thought maybe I could attach it at the faucet end, and while that works, it's not ideal because the filter sits are nearly a 90 degree angle when attached to the faucet. I'm not sure how much the orientation matters, but given that the design seems to be one where the sediment is supposed to be trapped and fall to the bottom the container, it seems like you'd get the best performance by orienting it upright.

CONS: Connectors. Filter.PROS: Compact. Durable.Additional Thoughts: I wanted this to filter at the hose connection as I pump from a rain barrel that gets some debris. Sadly, no matter how much tape I put on the threads and using the o-rings, I could never get the brass connectors to seal in this housing. I thought about using plumbers putty but decided I shouldn't have to go to that extreme for something like this. The brass fittings wobble so much that its like they are the wrong size. I was really hoping this would work because I wanted the strong metal connectors. The screen mesh is very flimsy and I can't imagine it lasting very long with much flow as it easily compresses.LovingTheRetiredLife

I am using the claities Garden Hose Filter as a Pre-Filter for our Pressure Washer, it has worked flawlessly all Summer well into the Fall with no issues whatsoever. I don't trust the little screen that comes with the Pressure Washer to keep debris out of my Pump, Having a Pre-Filter on the Inlet is added Security or perhaps Preventive Maintenance. I gave the Claities Garden Hose Filter a Full Five Star Rating. It is Easy to Use and Very Effective of Eliminating Trash & Debris Before they Damage Expensive Equipment.

This is perfect for our needs, well-made, and durable. We have it for a different project but it works great for us.

I tested this product with a standard garden hose, and it does what it says.Screening particulate out of your garden hose is what you need, this product should do exactly that.My biggest concern is finding replacement screens in case it is damaged or otherwise needing to be replaced.No leaks so far, and it seems to function as intended, however the lack of replacement screens may be a deal breaker for someOverall, would recommend and would purchase again, just be careful reassembling as to not damage the screen.

Based on the look of those fittings you would think they were hose thread. However they are 3/4" NPT. So if you thread hoses on either end you'll get a nice shower. I had to buy the necessary male 3/4 npt to female hose and 3/4 female npt to 3/4 male hose. After that it worked fine. It was exactly what I needed as we have a cistern well that provides all the water for sprinklers outside. The water is full of large debris that clogs the sprinkers heads and I have to take those little pins and clean them all the time. This removes the need to do that. In case you're wondering a regular house type filter would clog in about an hour of sprinkler watering because they are too fine. This one is the right mesh to catch the big stuff that would be an issue in a hose. 5 stars if they used the right adapters.
