Great for whittling
Although it is rather thin and potentially flimsy. This is the reason why it's so good for whittling. I would recommend

#6 smallest Opinel, small, sharp, so buy one !
It's an Opinel #6. Cheap to buy, small foldable knife, with a turn locking collar. Easy to sharpen carbon blade, beware, it is not rust proof, so unless you put a patina on it, you need to treat it with oil or similar, or it WILL rust. The blade is delicate and the tip + blade will break easily, if not treated with care. It is not a prying knife, like say a Mora would be. The #6 is a good, cheap knife, which I think is UK EDcarry legal. Cheap enough to lose and buy again. Other blade sizes are available, the #6 is the smallest in the Opinel range.

Great piece of kit.
Absolutely love this little knife, it’s sharp as a razor straight out of the box, I use a diamond sharpener on all my knives and it’s kept it’s edge with just an occasional top up, it’s brilliant to sharpen my sketching pencils and opens any parcel at the flick of a wrist, I also use it to cut my food. brilliant little tool. One thing I’m not quite sure about, and it hasn’t been a problem up to now, is the locking collar, don’t get me wrong, it works very well, holds the blade shut in your pocket and open when you’re using it.That’s the issue, UK knife law doesn’t allow locking knives, that said, there are many fold up knives with a release catch which to my mind could be classed as ‘locking’ sold every day so I’m hoping that if my knife ever comes to the attention of authority that they take a similar view, I’d hate to lose it, it’s become an essential part of my daily carry kit.

A great little knife
A great little knife. Locking collar can be easily removed to make it EDC and very sharp. Blade looks a little thin but with reasonable use shouldn't let you down. Stainless and carbon steel versions available. I have the 9 in carbon and this in stainless. The carbon steel needs a little more care, cleaning the blade and regular oiling to prevent rusting.

Good knife. Poor choice of delivery company.
Classic design, good quality little knife. Very happy with the product although it wasn't particularly sharp on arrival. Also as another reviewer stated there is no Opinel logo on the handle as depicted, not that I am bothered by this. There is a logo on the blade however.Would have given 4 stars if it wasn't for the fact that the seller chose to use the worthless delivery company that is Yodel. Since it was Yodel handling my delivery, the first day it wasn't delivered because I wasn't home, even though I was. I was promised delivery on the next day and the day after and the day after that but there was always something wrong be it a full van or logistical problems. I hate you, Yodel.
