I'm impressed with it.
I don't write many reviews of gear, but I'd well recommend this Sampler. Sure, it does have some limitations, but you've got to keep in mind the price. But it does have a lot under the hood if you take the time to dive in there. I've read some reviews about the menu, but like a lot of similar smaller units, you just need to be patient and learn what the abbreviations on a small screen mean. I think (personally) people forget what was available to people in the past to make such good music......sample rate/length etc....Orbital.....Underoworld (work with the tools you have)...I'm considering buying a second P-6 now I've got to know it better. The connectivity of these Aira units have been impressive...being able to avoid having a separate mixer is awesome....I also have an S-1. So I can feed my Korg Volca Drum into my S-1, then into the P-6, then record via USB-C into my phone (WhatsApp Video or another phone based DAW). Everything I have is battery powered, so I can sit anywhere and plug so many units together without any need for external power.

Brill!
this is a great thing!!.....Roland sampling on a small 'relatively simple' scale....just takes a little time to get yer bonce round the set up n workflow....it turns into a nice piece of gear to use....tis neat for throwing in yer bag and knocking up ideas on the fly I've been using the thing for a couple of weeks on n off and I've only charged it once, so the batts up to the job!....another winner from Roland, nice!!

Built to fail.
In fairness, it's been a little while since i had to return an Amazon purchase instantly because it's just that bad. But here we are again..I think it was Music Radar that put this in their top ten gadgets of the year (2024, obvs), and when i saw the price i ordered one that same day... Big mistake, and the last time i listen to them..The second i held this in my hands i knew that instead of another piece of music history, Roland are now happy to sell the kind of low quality children's stocking fillers that nobody is surprised (or cares) if they are broken before Chrismass day is even over..To think i bought something similar to this (the Yamaha SU-10) about THIRTY years ago, that has many of the same features, and is still going strong (you can find them on e-bay for as little as £30 now) shows just how low standards have gotten..Apart from feeling worryingly cheap and nasty (worse than any Volca, no joke), the only way you can see what any of the writing says on the buttons here is to have this placed directly and permanently under it's own dedicated reading light. Something which is even less practical given that the portability of this device is supposed to encourage us to take this device out of the studio and (for instance) sit on a porch and use it. But given how slippery this plastic is, i wouldn't recommended using this on anything except a perfectly flat table top. Seriously, if they had spread a layer of grease on the underside of this it could not be any more slippery than it is..But buying this over the Xmas // NYE period meant i didn't get to return this right away. And by day three the headphone jack was cutting out intermittently, and by day four the software on this device had completely seized up and even a factory reset wasn't possible..By the way, i had to look up every single instruction online because my unit came without any kind of manual. Even if this had worked as intended, the amount of menu diving involved in using this sucks any and all joy out of using a modern piece of music hardware. And for a modern device (even a budget one) the storage memory on this is actually LESS than a couple of the oldest of old floppy discs. I cropped eight kick drum samples and a couple of short soundbites as much as possible on my computer, yet when transferred over they were still more than enough to completely fill this devices storage. Pathetic. If portability is your priority, then i don't know what to suggest other than maybe the SU-10 i mentioned earlier. But if portability is not important to you, but you are on a budget and want something that lasts, you can now get a classic Akai S2000 for just £50, and a £40 GoTek upgrade from Amazon will give you literally gigabytes, even terabytes of storage, equivalent to many millions of times of what this garbage has. Or even Rolands own SP-808 samplers now cost less than this, have hours of storage, and were tough enough to be Slipknots sampler on stage for many years (plus they look cool)..
