My son absolutely loves it. Great quality. Fun to open each day on the advent calendar.

My 5 year old loved this advent calendar but thought his brother's construction vehicle one was cooler. lolYour 5 year old may need assistance with parts of this calendar. There are also many rocks to paint and I wish there had been a bit more variety but rocks can be painted many different ways, so I guess it was chill. My 5 year old didn't mind.

Day 5 and already got 3 rocks! As if my kids don't already find rocks outside... maybe it's targeted for indoor children who aren't exposed to rocks. Don't get me wrong, we were happy to paint rocks the first time and even collected more from our yard to paint. Day 2 of Rock painting still captivated the attention of my 3 year old. But day 3 of rock painting was so disappointing that I acted like it was a prank

As others have said, the amount of rocks is ridiculous. One day it was literally just a rock, no paint or anything. Fortunately I saved the paint from previous rocks and am clearly an incredible rock artist but those without my talent might be disappointed.Also the tool they gave to excavate the dinosaur was like from the Shawshank Redemption, my kid would have been excavating until he was 18. We used a mallet.It’s been fun going on Reddit to try to figure out what the dinosaurs are with other confused parents and reading the other rock reviews here. If they spent another $1 on this it would be amazing.

We had a lot of fun with this. We homeschool so it offered a lot of great learning opportunities.

Seems to be a good value. There are some fun things in this, but they did way too many small plastic dinosaurs and rocks to paint. The dinosaur exploration concept is fun and I just wish there were more variety! It does have a few really fun crafts and activities and I think this would be awesome for a young kid, but some days are going to be a little boring because it is fairly repetitive.

For the cost, you'd think they'd do a little more than 3 rocks in the first 7 days of opening..most kids can't just hand draw a dinosaur head. We thought the tattoos were originally for the rocks, as one of the tattoos is the same as the TRex rock. Nope. For an 8 year old, it really doesn't have alot of exciting things to open in the first 10 days. But on day 10 we opened another smooth rock..So window cling, 3 dinosaurs tattoos, and rocks..The mini dinosaurs are so cheap, most Dino loving kids, have these mini dinosaurs from vending machines. The window cling was the highlight of the first 10 days.We'll update as it goes along..we also ordered a Geology one for my older kid. And it's WAY cooler.

Dinosaur lover approved! He loved it and opened every day. Very exciting gift and one of the most loved purchases of the holiday season.
