Excellent quality! Wonderful details! Tremendous value!
Adult (30+) brick builder here. Not affiliated review…I was curious about this brand and gave it a try… I was also skeptical about none major brand brick sets in general but really liked to have building sets with lights baked in… so here we goPros:1. Good quality. Clutch power is different from major brands but works for me as some parts actually feels better this way. Color consistency is very good. No issues at all with quality. I did actually broke off one piece that’s was held with something like a nano-stud but was mainly my own fault as I was fussing too much about alignment and put waaay too much force than I should.2. Good design. Nice details throughout with numerous prints (NO stickers!!). I really love the coffee station setup, even better with the warm light from the ceiling! I will arrange this next to my espresso machine for a complete setup :)3. Good instructions. I consider myself as very experienced brick builder and the instructions are good. Some steps are a bit too combined but no issue for me. The cabling is a bit tricky but the instruction about them is very good. The built-in cabling also slows me down as I like to fuss with alignment and orientation but for me it is a plus to enjoy the longer build process.4. Built-in lights and power! This is revolutionary ! It brings so much more out of the building sets. I had very few brick sets of building as I don’t like to have much of the details hidden in the back in darkness. This is also the main reason I tried this set. Street lights, bedroom lights, reading lights and so much more!!! Really like all of them!5. Extraordinary value! With the amount value I’m getting in terms of quality, design, and fun factor, it is tremendous value compared to major brands!!!Cons:1. Difficulty level, this is probably for older kids or adults as the cabling adds to the complexity and also the requirement for tactility of hand/finger.2. Design. Maybe a bit nitpicking but some parts you will still have to clutch on top of wires, leaving small gaps and unevenness that compromises both aesthetics and structural robustness. Example is around the top area of the front portion on the second level (one picture). Maybe they can come up with new piece designs to accommodate? Another thing is structural robustness across some tall brick pillars. Sometimes there is little overlapping and/or cross connection along different vertical directions for stabilization. I messed up some parts when pressing down during my build and had to repeat sometimes.3. Color. Really nitpicking here but I would love to see a more bright/shiny gold tone if possible.4. Please ignore the name of the brand….. I would really recommend changing the name. Luckily the short name is F.O.Overall:Very very good build and excellent product. I was totally not expecting such nice experience. Can’t wait to buy more from this brand. Also, just ordered the police car with the lights for my kid. I’m sure he will love that!Additionally, I could really use some kit for motion sensing on the lights. I am regardless going to DIY one but would be nice to have some motion sensing bricks to reduce the clutter (if they can make it).

Great, affordable alternative to Lego
Great, affordable alternative to Lego. This was my first Funwhole build, and I am surprised by how much I ended up loving it. The lights can be a bit tricky to thread through the pieces, but the result is 100% worth it. This set is absolutely beautiful and so fun to build. No stickers needed, the little details are printed onto the pieces. Most pieces seem to be Lego compatible. My new set fits in so well with the rest of my displays. I’m so impressed I decided to go for the vacation cabin - excited to keep exploring this alternative to Lego!!

Great detail, great value, great fun
The bricks have a nice feel, the instructions are clear, the detail and the design are very good. I’m not sure what else you could hope for in a brick set. This is fun and the lights, though it feels like there is a bit to a learning curve to them, make the whole thing charming and lovely. Two small gripes: a few of the bricks were looser than was required for their purpose. The floor lamp on the second floor just had to be super glued in place. Probably the same will need to happen for the electrical contact pieces that allow the lights on other floors to quick release and unstack. They often want to stay on the wall piece below, which leaves the two floors connected by wire until you pry the brick off and replace it. Neither issue was a big deal for me and have experienced similar issues with Lego, but fewer with that brand and a little frustrating.Second, the name “Funwhole” is genuinely awful to an english speaker. The copy inside the instructions informs us that “FUNWHOLE is a combination of the words FUN and WHOLE (DUH), meaning the whole fun of day and night” (because they have lights, get it?). But no english speaker would ever put those words together in that order. Which means when you say the product’s name to someone it sounds like you’re saying “fun hole” — because, indeed you are— but “fun hole” is not the sort of thing a person should say in company, and certainly not to a teenager (set is marketed at 16+) and if they do they deserve the snickers they get.But still 5 stars. This set would be 2-3x the price from LEGO. And it wouldn’t have lights.
