The auto parts stores that sell the same part number as these relays sell a version without the built-in resistor. This is problematic because the GM fusebox design relies on these resistors. Part of their function is to add tolerance to short circuits. And they're made to fail/burn out over time in presence of a short circuit on that part of the system. But swapping the relay with an equivalent inside the fusebox, from a circuit you can do without (like the air compressor) or one that doesn't have as high a draw will get you home to find out where the short circuit is. Mine was the fuel filter head heater. Replacing the relay with this one brought power back to the system I haven't seen in years. Fixing the short circuit afterwards has kept the relay nice and cool, and my MPG went up a ton as well.Will be back for more
