Q: how do you keep the handle from collapsing back down when extended?

This particular item provides a much needed reach for the very tall ceiling shower like ours but its design's weak point depends on a crimping mechanism collar that is tightened and loosened using the small ferrule that is attached to the lower section of the squeegee. Unfortunately, the design with this type of crimping mechanism is also a major weak point in the overall design. All this being said when the crimping mechanism fails the only way to repair the device is to take the extension wand apart. In our case, the two tiny (and I mean very tiny) welds that hold the crimping collar to the lower sleeve broke in normal use. Perhaps if there had been more tiny welds it might have held up to normal use longer. I was able to recreate the welds by using a delayed action super glue and an activator spray that I had for another project. After having figured what the designers had been trying to do with the tiny welds in their design it was relatively easy to repair the break. That repair also made the crimping collar work more effectively. However, if I had not had the proper tools to effect the repair I would have finally either returned the squeegee to Amazon or would have had to throw it out. Great idea but poorly constructed for extended use over time.

I threw it away because it was completely un-usable. No way to hang it, the telescoping collapsed when using it. Don't get this one.

Great product for getting excess moisture off of shower walls/doors and looks very attractive.

Q: Is this product really as good as advertised?

We both prefer another one but he said the handle is a bit slippery and the blade doesn't work well on glass. Fine for the floor as the handle is long enough not to bend down. Blade is not as good as the other which has a semi clear acrylic? or soft plastic blade which I use exclusively.
