Mega Games!
Not much to say. It's Sega classics. Mega drive had some of the best titles ever and if you were lucky enough to own the Megadrive you definitely want this. Nostalgia at its finest. Whichever game was your favourite I'm sure it's on this great all in one disc

Pretty good fun, but lots of very similar games
I've had a lot of fun playing this game collection, having grown up with a Sega Master System, but never having owned a Sega Mega Drive. By far the games I've played the most is Shining Force and Shining Force II, which are RPG games. If I've any criticism, I'd say that there's an awful lot of beat 'em up games, like multiple versions of Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and also Altered Beast, which aren't very interesting, are very repetitive, and so don't hold up very well today gameplay wise.Another thing that doesn't hold up is the lack of saves on most games, if you die and have used up all your continue credits, then you have to go right back to the beginning again. That gets tiring very quickly, especially as I die more often as I don't have the reactions of a 12 year old anymore!Even with that criticism, if you're up for some gaming nostalgia, it's great value for money.

Why Sega?
"Why Sega"? All this needed to be was a straight up port of the Mega Drive collection of the last generation. Instead this feels like a stripped down version with games removed (Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles and all the Ecco games stand out to me) and little features that I happened to enjoy as someone who grew up with these titles (such as box art). Such things should have been included as standard and the cynic in me feels we are going to be sold back this content down the line, though I really hope this is not the case.Additionally the main selling point of this version, the online aspect, is disappointing. Being able to connect up and play Golden Axe 3 with someone in the world sounded enticing. Sadly the connection time is incredibly slow and you never know what game you will end up playing when you chose to connect. Once again, "why Sega"?I dont want to be completely harsh on his however, as there are good aspects. The main game selection HUD is a 90's kids bedroom complete with original CRT television, game posters and ugly 90's decor. There are some great options for display as well. The purist can relish in some nifty little effects that make the display look like the televisions of old (i.e Naff), and the modernist can upscale and smooth edges for the most visually impressive experience. I find myself switching between the two regularly depending on the title. All in all I cannot recommend this title for anyone that played the collections on the last generation as you will feel short changed. To anyone new to these collections its worth a look but you will find it lacking. You would be better served shelling out a fiver for the old collection if you still have an Xbox 360 or PS3 and getting more content. Such a shame.

Great games
This was a great purchase for me I remember most of these games and love to play them again. So many old games to choose from and they seem to be the same as the originals.

Do not waste your time and money on this!
This is NOT a good collection, and the issues are quite prevalent. I'll list a few of the key issues:The frame-rate is choppy at timesThere is obvious controller input delayThe emulator stutters with the sound and jumps/pops at timesSound emulation in general is quite sketchy on some games. Any game with significant DAC use (i.e. sound clips) either has a lower pitch (for better or worse) or sounds like it's underwater and 'warbles' (Streets of Rage 3 is a prime example)Online multiplayer is terrible. There's no easy way of just playing the one game you want to play online, and it's also plagued with further input lag and choppinessThere's no option to display the game in a pixel-perfect scaling options in a letterbox view, even though this would be a lot of people's preferred display choiceOnly 2 controller button options, both of which don't consider players using the X button as jump in a gameChallenges aren't codded correctly. For example, the Sonic 1 - Green Hill Zone 2 challenge doesn't clear once you clear the act, and have to clear the next act in the same time restraint to clear itGame selection is missing some key games, such as Ecco the Dolphin and Sonic 3 / Sonic and KnucklesI just cannot recommend this collection in any capacity, especially considering the collection for the PS3 / PSP released 9 years ago is better, and emulation of the Mega Drive has been much better than this online since the early 2000s at the very least.
