Exact replacement
Great, exact replacement for leaking valve with weal return spring. It is much easier to turn than the original and no leaks.

Stopped My Leaking Out of the Backwash Hose
I fired up my pool this year and everything seemed to be working great. Over night I noticed the water had dropped a couple of inches and realized water was coming out of the backwash line even though the multiport valve was set to filter mode. I did a little research and it seemed like most multiport valve problems are due to the spider gasket. I opened up the valve and my gasket didn't seem like it had any visible problems. I went ahead and ordered a whole new key assembly as a last ditch thing before I called a pool guy. As many other people have mentioned it doesn't come with the circular gasket that sits under the cover of the lid. I went to a local pool store and picked up part number SPX0710Z3 for a couple of bucks. When I went to install the valve key assembly I was a little confused for a minute. I thought I might have ordered the wrong part because the orientation was mirrored from the key assembly that was in my multiport valve. The existing label on my key was SP0710G50M and I was almost certain I had ordered the correct part. One of the notches where the screws go in is a different shape than the rest of them. I lined that up with the notch on the valve body. It seemed like the valve was in the correct orientation but the label was backwards. I started the pump and everything seemed to be working in great shape and my leak was solved. It looks a little weird with the label oriented the opposite direction and that made me pause during the installation and question what was going on. But overall I am really happy, shipping was fast, the part was in great shape, and my pool isn't leaking anymore!

Don't forget to replace the O ring too!
I ordered this with a little trepidation because the model number on my old part was almost completely worn off ... luckily it was the right item. According to my pool store the multivalve port this sits on has been discontinued and replaced by a newer model. I first bought that one and brought it home but the fittings were slightly different; hoses come in at different places so I would have had to re-plumb everything. Much much better (and cheaper) to just replace the top.I bought the replacement spider gasket (weird that the same seller does not offer that with Prime shipping) but forgot about the O ring which sits just under the top, where it connects to the sand filter. As others have said, it leaked like a sieve. Luckily my pool store had the correct O ring and the problem was quickly solved. The turning action is much better now and I'm no longer afraid the switch is going to break down on a holiday weekend.By the way, some reviewers (here and on other pool maintenance sites) say put some silicone lube on pool pump rubber parts, others don't mention it, some say use silicone glue which seems like a terrible idea because the gasket will fail eventually and then you'll have to clean out the channel with a knife, screwdriver etc. My pool place gave me a tiny tube of silicone lube which lasted for three replaced fittings, including two on this unit. Tightens the seal (because the silicone will flow to any loose spots) and protects against chemicals in the water. I see no reason not to do this.

Perfect fit
My 10 year multiport valve was leaking around the center stem. This was perfect fit and fixed the problem. Wish they would include the big o ring with this. Would be worth another star.

Perfect fit BUT you need to buy the O-ring and gasket separate.
I bought this to replace my SP710RX50 valve. You have to buy the O-ring and Valve gasket separate to match it. Pulled up the old valve gasket out of the manifold (it was glued or very old and stuck in place) and then put the new one in with some Jacks lube and it is working perfectly. I will update if anything changes!

Perfect genuine Hayward OEM product except….
Perfect fit and genuine Hayward unit. Just be careful installing because on mine, the handle is 180 degrees opposite when in filter position from original. Make sure you look closely underneath before and after so the chambers match exactly as before. The handle positions and position indicators on sticker may be different than original. And as always use a new spider gasket and upper o-ring with silicone gasket gasket lube. I ordered both gaskets separately.
