worth it!
My golden retriever absolutely loves the water fountain! At 10 years old, he’s always had a thing for running water/ clean water, and this fountain is perfect for him. The 2.1-gallon capacity means we don’t have to refill it constantly, and the anti-splash design keeps everything neat and clean. The super quiet operation is a huge bonus, especially when it's placed in a quiet part of the house. I can barely hear it running, but he definitely enjoys the sound. It’s great for both dogs and cats (if you have more than one pet), and the design fits well in our multi-pet home. The only downside is the cost of the filters, as we have to replace them fairly regularly, but considering my dog's age and the health benefits of always having fresh, running water, it’s worth it. My golden deserves the best, and this fountain is definitely a winner!

This is the best pet purchase, EVER!!
The media could not be loaded. I seriously LOVE THIS THING!! This is the best invention for pets. I searched high and low for a pet fountain and they all seemed to have their flaws. This is the best you could get, even if you were willing to spend more money, you wouldn’t get one as good as this. And it’s priced very fair. It’s very large. As you can see in my picture, there is a line showing the max fill line. I honestly disregard that. I’ve filled it up all the way. There is a little cut out in the back where you feed the power cord for the pump, and I fill the water up until it’s right below that cut out so it doesn’t spill out. I’ve owned this unit for months and I’ve always used it that way with no issue. I estimate that it holds almost an extra gallon filling it up to below that cutout.I have two French bulldog Boston terrier mixes and several cats. Before this fountain, I would fill two large water dishes full of water every day. It was a pain and would get disgusting. Never realized that my animals weren’t drinking enough until I got this fountain. Now they all love to drink water and none of them have ever made a mess out of it.When it first arrived, I would fill it all the way up and it would last exactly one week until it needed to be refilled. I would clean all of its parts and refill it during my weekly refill. But after two weeks, I think my animals decided that they really loved this thing and they all started drinking way more water. So then it went from lasting a week to only lasting 4 or 5 days before it needed a refill. All the cats regularly conjure together at this and take turns getting their fill. Moving water is much healthier for them all anyway so I love to see them enjoying it so much. Now that I’ve owned it for several months I’ve found the best way to use it that makes the most sense for me and my household. Instead of breaking all the parts down and thoroughly cleaning the whole thing every time it needs to be refilled which would be at least once or twice a week (bc I have so many animals), instead I fill it to the tippy top, and when it gets low halfway thru the week, I take a jug of water and pour it directly into the fountain to top it off. Then when it gets low again, I’ll top it off with fresh water again.I let it go about 2 weeks or so before I break it down completely, thoroughly wash every single part, and give it a new filter in the basin and a new sponge filter at the pump. I get way more life out of my filters this way instead of replacing every week I manage to get about 2-4 weeks out of them.To make the filters last the longest, once a week I pull the filter out of the basin, give it a good rinse and stick it back in when I top the fountain off. When I do this I also pull the filter out and wipe it off and rinse the sponge filter. All my animals love this fountain and so do i. It works amazingly and is very well constructed. I would love to see a stainless version of this big one like they did for the smaller cat fountain. This petlibro company has done a great job creating this fountain and it’s extremely consumer friendly. They sell the filters, and they even sell the replacement pump for less than $10 if something were to ever happen to yours. It’s great. Nowadays so many companies create their products where if one little thing goes wrong with a part of the item, the whole thing is trashed and can’t be used. So I love that they sell the replacement pumps. It’s also super quiet. It makes no noise at all. Idk what other ppl are talking about referencing sound this thing might make bc it doesn’t.. like at all lol.

A must buy!
This pet fountain is like no other. I decided to upgrade to the dog fountain after my pups took a liking to the cat sized version. My cats still use their own fountain, but also use this fountain as it is just right for them in height. I board dogs in home, and when I have 6+ dogs at a time this fountain is a life saver! When I have 6+ dogs as well as my cats, I typically fill the fountain once a day. The filter is pretty effective in removing hair if you keep up on cleaning it. The fountain it self is overall pretty easy to use, and comes with a small pipe cleaner to use to clean the pump. I’ve had mine for 6 months now and have had no issues. It can get quite heavy when it is full after cleaning, but I have found it’s easy to set it in its place after cleaning, and then fill it with a pitcher. You can also see right through it to see the water line.

Large, hard to move, must clean frequently
My dog and cats love their fountains. They are a pain to clean because they are large and, once filled up, are quite heavy to move around. There's a part in particular that I didn't realize came OUT the first few cleanings and only discovered it later (the fan in the pump is magnetic, so you have to be quick about pulling it out, but CLEAN that because it gets filthy). I would recommend buying a couple of good pipe cleaners for it, and make sure you get into the opening of the white cover (the part where the water comes into for the animals to drink from). It gets pretty gross in there, as well, if not properly cleaned. It holds a lot of water, but it needs regular cleaning, either weekly or every couple of days, depending on the kind of animal using it. For instance, the one my dog uses needs cleaning every couple of days (IE: taking the whole thing apart and cleaning it all out), whereas my cat-only filter can be done weekly/bi-weekly. The filters last for maybe 2 weeks and need to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned and evaluated before using them again. You will go through filters frequently, so just keep that in mind.

This is The One. The "Finally! I can stop buying these things!" Fountain
I don't want to admit how much money I've spent on fountains over the years. Almost all of them stopped working within a couple of months, didn't filter well, were difficult to clean, or were otherwise disappointing (usually it was all of the above in some combination). This one? I've had it since October 2024 and it still looks and performs like new! We love it. The clear sides make it easy to tell when it needs refilling, and the water flow is gentle/almost silent which is important because my eldest pup is the most nervous dog on the planet and has refused to drink from louder or more aggressive fountains. It's short enough that my english bulldog can drink without stretching, but not too short for my staffy to use easily. I take it apart, wash it, and replace the filters every two weeks and it's all so easy I can almost do it by muscle memory now. I'm pleased with this thing to the point that if it stopped working tomorrow, I'd probably thank it for its service and purchase another without hesitation even with it being less than a year old. That's how used to trash pet fountains, and satisfied with this one I am.
