This item is a Christmas gift, it is what she needs, so I have given it 5 stars on all.

The paper quality is great for a mixed media sketchbook, I love that I can easily rip out pages if I want to and the way the spine is made to allow a flat surface is very useful.

The paper is textured a bit, so it is too rough to use alcohol based markers like copics, because the textured paper will ruin the brush nibs.Other than that, the sketchbook is fantastic! It would be great for paints, because the paper is thick and textured a little.

I like this Arrtx Hardcover Sketch Book. Some sketchbooks just have a creative feeling about them, and others seem very dull. This Arrtx sketchbook does feel creative, it gives you a feeling that there are creative possibilities in the air. I also like the thick paper (180 g), which is unusually thick for a notebook. As you can see in the incomplete drawing in the photos, I used some ink wash in some places, and the paper accepted the watery ink without wrinkling or warping. Very nice.One thing I can't decide whether I like yet is the way they have bound the pages. As you can see in the photos above, they bound the pages so that the spine of the cover lies flat and the stack of the paper is separate from the spine. In practice this means if you want to do a two-page spread you have to use a support like a book so that the left page is supported. If you choose a book the same height as the paper stack this works pretty well and holds the left and right pages level, but this could be a little inconvenient if you were sketching outside holding the book in your lap. Still, overall I like this sketchbook.

The media could not be loaded.  I really really wanted to like this sketchbook more. I bought it to use with alcohol markers (as it is advertised for) but the bleed through is very obvious so paper cannot be used on both sides which makes being able to colour across pages useless.The paper is textured as some people mentionf but ok for pencils if you are using very high quality and blendable ones. On the photos i did only light colouring (little/no pressure) with lyra and faber castell pencils.I have not yet tried with gouache or watercolor but will update when I do.
