The Light Source Mega Clamp, Black Anodized

Hey, all you theater folks and DJs- let's talk about hanging stuff over people's heads! Recently, I bought some speakers, and wanted to get a c-clamp to attach to the yoke. But speakers weigh a lot more than a standard lighting fixture, so I wondered what was the safe working load of a traditional,(like the ones on all 300 fixtures in my venue) cast iron "theater c-clamp".So..., if you look on their websites, it says "not appropriate for overhead use"....What? Yes, all the fixtures over your head are held up by non-rated clamps! A typical fixture is about 10 lbs (4.5kg) and the "estimated load" for a cast-iron clamp is "around 100 lbs (49kg). But not a "safe working load"!!!!So- I now always buy Mega-Clamps. It has a Safe Vertical Working Load of 600 lb (273 kg). It's made of aluminum with a grade 5 bolt. They are awesome.I actually really recommend the "Mega-swivel" from Light Source. It has the adjustment nut at the bottom that allows you to change the location of the fixture without loosening the yoke.

Solid heavy duty clamp!

This product is working very well for what we are using it for. We bought new moving head fixtures for a commercial site and everything is working perfectly. Great product for the cost.

The simplest and best bracket!

We needed to mount a UHF fin antenna to a light pipe, and this was part of the solution! We put together this clamp, an adapter, and a mic stand extension which screwed into the fin antenna.
