I’m pleased to report that the cable worked perfectly I connecting by Surface Pro 5 to a portable / auxiliary monitor. The cable covering makes it appear durable and attractive.

I used this to connect my Microsoft Surface Pro 6 to a KYY portable monitor. It worked on the first try.

I'd prefer to have had a chance to make the seller aware of this issue, but I didn't get a chance to use this cable until over a month after the Amazon return date passed. It did not work for my need (Surface Pro 4 to external monitor). Using a different mini-DP adapter on my SP4 that had a female HDMI port (and then connecting that to the same monitor with an HDMI to mini HDMI cable) does work without issues. So either the design of this cable is not compatible with SP4 mini display port, or the cable is defective.Yes, I should have tested this before the return windows closed. That noted, this cable is basically un-used and so I was hoping the manufacturer would be willing to replace it anyway. So "buyer beware" - this may not work for you either, and definitely test the cable when you receive it.Whatever happens you should also be prepared for zero support after-the-sale from this manufacturer.

I bought this to project to my Samsung M8 monitor, which has a micro HDMI port. The shape of the connector is similar but the size is different. In the images it's hard to get a feel for scale. It might say it somewhere on the product page, but I probably could have done some research to see if mini and micro HDMI are two different things - I take full blame for the mix up. Just want to write something so maybe someone else looking for the micro version might see this and not make the same mistake! If you have the Samsung M8, this is not compatible. (Giving 5 stars because I have to give some stars and I'm sure it works great, it looks/feels like a quality product, I just don't have anything to use it for)

While this did not work, I was able to get a refund. I needed a cord to run from a late 2015 MacBook Air to portable Monitor, but this did not work. I tried to reconnect several times with no avail. Would recommend other cords if you have a similar set up, but I did timely get a refund and cannot confirm this wouldn't work for a mini-dp to mini-hdmi otherwise.
