Update (8/10/24) Having used the M23 frequently over the last three months, my comments below still stand, but I would like to address the incredible value of another M23 feature. Desktop mode allows the device to run solely off of AC power (bypassing the battery altogether, thus extending the lifespan of the product). As I write this, I am using the M23 as a DAC/headphone amp to drive studio headphones, powered with a fast charger power brick (one that came with a Samsung phone). The M23 gives you not only get a great high res portable audio device but also a high-powered headphone amp and quality external DAC, eliminating the need for additional sound equipment and making it a fantastic device for those with space and budget constraints.Sound quality is superb. Setup was straightforward, simply requiring the ability to read and follow well-written instructions. (I'm 58 and enjoy music tech, but I am NOT a tech genius!) The user interface works well, although it took me some time to feel like I fully understood how it functioned. I preloaded a 1 TB micro SD card with nearly 800,000 MB of FLAC, WAV, and mp3 sound files, and I am pleased to say that the FiiO M23 handles it well. The device is substantial--heavier than a cell phone--but looks and feels well-constructed and durable. I have another less expensive DAP, and was nervous that I would regret spending the $$ for the M23. Happily, the device met and exceeded my expectations. The FiiO M23 is for someone who wants more than the typical budget device. I'll update this review after I've used the device for several months.

It had an issue with the battery. It began to turn itself off and on at random. I returned it within 2 weeks it has been more than a month and they just will not give me a refund. It was a third party seller I guess I don't even know how this could have happened. Overall I liked this product I had to buy it somewhere else however I still haven't gotten my money back for the original productI would not recommend you by this on Amazon

... FiiO M23 must be the way.I purchased this DAP expecting a mid range product with average quality and was pleasantly surprised with what I received. The device was easy to set up. I installed a 1 TB micro sd card, connected to my pc and transferred my hi res audio files to the device. The GUI is straight forward and easy to navigate. This device has brought new life to my music and even my Graphic Audio drama is vastly improved. The device is a little bit heavier than I had expected, but it is worth it for the sound improvement.The two main concerns I have are that the device uses Andriod10 OS instead of an updated version which in the future could present EOL problems, and also that the battery is not replaceable. Batteries degrade over time not being able to take a full charge therefore rendering the device unusable.

WiFi, you have to be either on top of your router or have a hot spot on your phone to prevent drop outs.2. gets hot3. the slider is very touchy.The WiFi was an issue for me on one and on its replacement, sent them both back. As I was using this as a streamer not a player.If you have all your music in FLAC files this will work great for you.

Great sound and fine industrial finish is what i feel at first to the FiiO M23 DAP. Compared to the M11, the M23 has more refined sound quality. Most obviously is more smooth, sparkling image and quieter background, not as dry or forward sounding like the old M11. I enjoyed the look and feel of the M23. Compared to my Shanling M9 the M23 tend to sound cleaner and not as warm. The Shanling do have a bit better bass quality, but the FiiO M23 can match by adjusting equalizer. Price is great when I Compared the FiiO M23 to my Astell&Kern SP1000. I have been a happy user of M23 and just purchased FiiO's new crown jewel FX-17 IEM. A little drawback happened after near a year of enjoying my M23, it suddenly has bass breaking up issue regardless how low i set the listening level. Seems its running inti something digital. Following the Amazon direction I reported the issue to FiiO. Hope it's not too late to expired the product' manufacturers one year warranty. I will write follow up about the outcome.

Calidad funcionamiento excelente

Sound is great. I notice it does get warm. But I am pleasantly surprised at the sounds that it produces. I highly recommend it. I think the AK chips are the best for the sound that I enjoy. I have DAC WITH ESS Chips set and Prefer AK chip set.
