Model is nice just took a long time to get.

The quick verdict = This is an amazing model, satisfying if tricky to build. Great value.ProsIt looks great. The black and white racing stripes pop against the red body. The design is really clever in recreating those curves in brick parts.Mostly sturdy construction (the chassis is strong), with smooth operating gears and engine pistons.The parts are good quality for non-Lego. I didn’t have any ‘fit’ problems.There’s a lot of extra detail, especially in the cabin. Air vents and an opening glove box, rear view mirror, gear stick (non-working). These make for surprisingly realistic feel to the model.It’s fantastic value.ConsThe directions aren’t the best. There’s a lot of pointless rotating the assembly between steps, that just leads to mistakes.On top of that the numbering of steps for sub assemblies is inconsistent:1 23 4Or sometimes:1 32 4It doesn’t help that the entire build (until you start adding red body parts) is black. Beams and connectors, all the same color. You will make mistakes in the build, and have to work back to find them.Some of the details are flimsy: the seats, and the steering, and some body parts. The door mechanisms and the hood. They look great, but there’s a lot of wobble.Overall, it’s a good value kit for an experienced builder, and makes a great display piece. Just don’t expect a straightforward build.
