I received this today and at 22:00 hours I found the cows out, in 9' tall Johnson grass riding the tractor. I was transmitting on the UV9S also from Amazon on dual channels menu 7. Both worked flawlessly tractor to inside the house during the dilemma. I hate to say but thus far this radio is easier than the UV5R and the BF152 by far. Far easier to use and speaker clarity on the 9 is superb with remote mike. Considering the cost, this radio is over the top. Yes programed with chirp to the UV17pro software.

The unit seems great. I could understand the instruction somewhat, however I cannot find a single video tutorial on how to get it set up.

Radio only worked for approximately two weeks out of the box I Attempted to use it at my place of business. The battery only lasts around 2 to 2 1/2 hours with minimal to light usage. Hopefully the product is defective but I will probably look at other options of radio

I am very impressed with this radio. It’s easy to work. Good battery life. Has FM radio, and of course, weather station. Works with my cheap walkie-talkies

I gave it a 2 because you can turn it on and enter a frequency. Worst user manual I have seen. Does not tell you how to program frequencies to channels. There is no programming cable for this radio that I could find. I tried a universal cable. It works but chirp does not recognize the radio if you try to use UV-17 pro as claimed. They claim you can take frequencies from other radios. There is no mention of it in user manual. Do not buy this until it is supported by chirp and there is a programming cable for it. This could be a great radio but right now its better as a paper weight.
